Makes me wonder if he already knows who he really wants as top execs, perhaps Nunes gets another offer, Don jr?

PS. I wonder how many of the second level management are still with the company and are able to infor the new head honchos about the actual details of operations. I wonder if a few people have been offered a golden parachute in the takeover contract to keep the company afloat.

Me, too. I only made an account to interact with the local sportsball radio station.

Since Twitter sued him, I assumed he'd fire all the officers and attorneys. Am I the only one who thought he'd do that?

I’ll keep it for now. Got over it a long time ago. I only use it to read links from here.

Kanye West's account has been reactivated, unsure what will happen if he continues to make violent threats and anti-semitic remarks. I guess nothing? It's a new world over there on the bird site.

In other news, Musk has vowed to dig into Catturds.

Very nice, the new owner likes cat turds.

This is going to be:

a) highly toxic, and,
b) very entertaining, in particular because I expect it to be
c) utterly wild for months into the future.

As for the journalists, authors, random geniuses, and other thoughtful and intelligent people I follow (I don't follow anyone I disagree with anymore, so I'm not tempted to waste my precious time responding), they'll find a voice somewhere else, and I will follow them again.

I joined about 6 months ago, to follow Mike Dunford's and Akiva Cohen's legal commentary.
I subsequently started interacting with some doggies and with some jazz and Grateful Dead fans.
For now I'm staying. If the experience becomes unpleasant, I'll find somewhere else to go.

I keep thinking now would be a pretty good time for Google to relaunch G+. But people tell me I'm cray-cray.

I exist on Twitter just to follow a set group of users whose views I value. I'll stay on Twitter as long as there's something of value there for me. I use an app on my tablet which does not display any of the annoying Twitter ads so Twitter gets no revenue from me.

I thought I would share Mike Dunford's tweet thread on this issue -

The texts from the thread -
Here's my very rough thinking on the Musk/Twitter purchase.

1: This is a heavily financed deal, for a company that's worth nothing remotely close to the price being paid.

2: A lot of that is apparently secured by Tesla stock, which is also widely viewed as overvalued.

3: Presumably, the funders would like a reasonable shot at getting their money back at some point.

4: That, in combination with some of the shifts we've seen in Musk's statements on things like ads, moderation, makes me wonder if the've put some protective measures in place.

5: When it comes to content moderation, and particularly to the First Amendment thing, there's a relevant fact:

Most Twitter users are not in the United States.

6: As far as the USA is concerned, Musk can moderate - or not - to his heart's content. That's not true in other jurisdictions.

7: And, frankly, from a purely business perspective, the vast majority of the potential for growth is in non-American markets.

So it's basically same as it ever was - the question is whether Musk is willing to run his net worth into the ground by trashing Twitter. Or if he's going to move with - if not caution, some prudence - in trying out different things.
