Not before it hits the rest of the state.

track seems to be drifting west, which verbatim is Good For Me.

But

Having watched snowstorms in New England for decades, I worry about things moving back at the last minute. Too many "solid hits" that ended up being partly cloudy, and too many "Not a problem for our area" that ended up with a foot+ of snow.

I'm about done with the constant heat advisories, too. Temps only in the mid- to high-90s, but the sweat factor is hovering around 110-112 every day. Supposedly we have rain coming in this weekend.

We had bad storms again today. I didn't get to the farmers' market yesterday, so I went to a local farm over in the next county in between. More tonight and tomorrow, they say. But temps are supposed to drop into the low 80s on the weekend, with low humidity, so I'll take it.

Could have been posted in the Climate Change thread. :(

https://www.axios.com/europe-all-time-h ... 7a475.html
A weather station in Sicily may have set an all-time high temperature record for all of Europe on Wednesday, when the temperature climbed to a scorching 48.8°C (119.8°F) amid a regional heat wave that has shown few signs of relenting.

The big picture: The intense heat wave continues to roast the Mediterranean and northern Africa. The hot and dry weather has played a large role in creating the conditions conducive for explosive and devastating wildfires in Turkey and Greece.

Details: Numerous monthly and national temperature records have fallen during the heat wave, including in Greece, Turkey and Tunisia, but if verified through an examination of the weather instruments, the Sicily observation would be the most noteworthy. The previous continental heat record was 48°C (118.4°F), set in Greece in 1977.

That too. Somebody up here referred to it as "thick." I walked outside, and turned around, and walked right back indoors. If I needed convincing why I don't want to live in Florida, that did it.

We are under a severe thunderstorm watch, again though so far earlier stuff fell apart and the only things left are popup storms. Watching weather right now is not that much dissimilar than watching Lindell's event. It is annoying, all over the place, given to bursts of anger over and over again, makes no sense, and will thankfully end tomorrow night (I hope).

How hot was it yesterday Bill?

It was so hot, all I had for dinner was a single tomatoe, and a piece of bread.

That's HOT!!!! Here in the south you don't need bread to eat "maters". Also, cold watermelon is the go to for all meals and snacks on a hot day.

What's the air quality like today Bill?

It is so thick, I can look at the sun. Can't see any mountains though.

The haze in the Willamette Valley this morning is awful. I could do more than a short direct glimpse of the sun. It was a beautiful orange globe. Put on some good polarized sun glasses, and I didn't need the sun visor as I drove east. All the surrounding mountains are gone from view. Even closer ridges are shaded outlines in the sky.

Its a bit cooler this morning, have all the windows open to get the cooler air inside. Kitty is making up for lost lap time over the past few hot days. Housework may not get done as planned...

It is in the 70s now with the humidity down to 40%. Ahhh... Tomorrow I go to the northland where it is even cooler and is quieter (no fire engines driving slowly, marching bands, and guys riding little motorcycles like what was happening at the main road near me this morning).

Dealing with the remnants of Fred right now. It started raining last night, has slowed down, but has been mostly steady to heavy. You can cut the air out there with a knife. Flash flood alerts everywhere across the state. We're going out later and changing our route to avoid a valley that floods rapidly and frequently. The road through it is called Streets Run Road, for good reason.

(CNN)At least 10 people, including two toddlers, have died during severe flooding in Tennessee on Saturday, Humphreys County Sheriff Chris Davis told CNN affiliate WSMV.

As of Saturday night, 31 people are still missing, Davis told WSMV.

The bodies were recovered after catastrophic flash flooding near Waverly closed US-70, the city's main highway, and placed the community under a boil water advisory, according to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency (TEMA).

Waverly is located in Humphreys County about 60 miles west of Nashville.
