Counterprotesters! :cheer2: :cheer1: :cheer2:

4-5 counterprotesters showed up today with bullhorns.

Counterprotesters really piss off 1776. But they did much better today, probable because Oreo, Xray, and 1st Responder weren't there.

The 1776 did call police. That's standard procedure now. They want cops to watch everything when counterprotesters are around. Cops show up, but they don't hand around. Cops aren't babysitters.

In an effort to drown out the counterprotesters, those at camp set up their karaoke machine to sing. Police had arrived once the singing began.

Cops shut down karaoke and told 1776 that their speaker system is illegal. No more karaoke ever.

This group just doesn't understand that calling police draws attention to them as well as counterprotesters.

Unintended consequences, man, that hurts.

I did enjoy the tour so much that I went back to the city one and they fingerprinted me. You'd think that when you walk in and ask them to fingerprint you, they might not be quite as forceful with it as they are with normal folks they are booking but whatever. He got lots of practice on me as I had to be fingerprinted on both a state police form and an FBI form.
I worked for a company for a while where I dealt with people buying mutual funds and had to be fingerprinted by the FBI. It felt really weird having the person take complete control of my hand. She held it hard enough I couldn't move it myself if I wanted to. I actually felt like I'd done something wrong already

Wow, I've been in a LOT of jails and prisons. I've even been in a women's prison, up in Chino.

The trick is to be able to leave the jail, or prison, whenever you're ready. ;)

For a brief period in the 90's our company had a contract to install and maintain one of the first digital biometrics systems in the PNW. Getting a good ten card out of some people can be difficult. Sometimes it does feel like they will to break your fingers off to get a clean image. Because of that experience, I got better at giving good prints to someone running a machine.

After Sept 11 lots of companies slowly upped their security game until getting background checks became de riguer for projects. Even school buses. And because of the Internet, all these databases are tied together. So, when I walk into an industrial background test office to fulfill a contract requirement, insert my right index into the finger doodad, it's fun to watch the face of the tester brighten as they relax into their chair a bit. It's like a weight has been lifted. All my fields populate. All my info is there already. Everything is correct. No wants, no warrants. I'm not on any watchlist. There are no notes.

Which just proves I should not go on a crime spree. They would know who I am in a heartbeat.

Not a good day for the 1776ers. After the police shut down their karaoke yesterday, now they have been told NO CHAIRS on the the mall lawn. (which means no shade). #HoldTheGravel

Only 1 followed Santa's "no chairs" on the lawn. After a few hours, he went back to the lawn.

Karaoke was performed again last night.

The still don't have any permits.

Good ol' Kamala Pelosi strikes again.

I love it when men with 1776 try to ingratiate themselves with police. They always fail.

Ignored!

It's not covid, guys.

No lawn chairs!

Today.

Why they shouldn't be sitting under the trees. I doubt Santa or any of his gaggle cares.

They have applied for the permit. Park admin has said they will allow the 1776RM to setup a stage. Will be called a "vigil site".
