My campus begins classes on Sept 27. Employees just received an update email.

Classes will be virtual for most or all of fall quarter. All campus jobs that can be done remotely will go remote again.

Campus has been closed since mid-March 2020.

Crosby is now under investigation. She left her 4 year old and 9 year old grandchildren in a locked, running car while she attended this board meeting.

Oh, and the children were supposed to be in quarantine because they'd been exposed to covid. Crosby is against masks. So, she was in a small, enclosed space with two children in quarantine, and entered a crowded board meeting without a mask.

20% of the district's children are in quarantine or isolation. The board had decided to close schools for over a week because covid was devastating the schools. At the Sept 1 meeting, the board was voting on options for virtual learning during the 10 day closure. Crosby refused to vote because she wanted schools to stay open.

Dorchester School District Two board member Barbara Crosbywas involved in a potential child endangerment incident on September 1.

Dorchester County Sheriff's Office released a report on the incident today. Officers say Crosby left her 9-year-old and 4-year-old grandchildren in her car. Crosby told security guards they were in the car when she arrived at the DD2 Adult Learning Center for a meeting. One security guard told her she could not leave them there, but she continued into the building.

DD2 Director of Security Preston Giet and a deputy found the car running in the parking lot with the windows locked. The deputy was going to break the car's windows, referring to the situation as a "major safety hazard," but Giet was able to convince the kids to unlock the vehicle. The oldest child told Giet their mother was coming from West Ashley to pick them up.

Afterward, a security guard watched the kids for approximately 20 minutes until their mother arrived.

The oldest child said they had been exposed to COVID-19 and could not enter the building.

The children were not placed in protective services. An investigation will determine if a law was broken.

No charges were filed against Crosby.

Crosby was the only school board member to vote against the decision to send DD2 to virtual learning amid high COVID-19 cases.

Crosby told ABC News 4 the kids were in the car, but a security guard was watching them, waiting for their mother to pick them up.

Crosby was a teacher for decades. She knows the laws about leaving children unattended. She was a mandatory reporter. She absolutely knew that what she did is illegal.

A Dorchester District 2 school board member who answered a COVID-19 question posed by Live 5′s Raphael James by saying, “God decides who lives or dies,” is now being investigated for allegedly leaving her grandkids in a car as she was late to a board meeting which she later walked out of.


Crosby would later walk out of that meeting and discuss her thoughts on that issue with James in a video interview which can be seen below.
The sheriff’s office investigation started when a deputy at the district heard loud banging from the door of the center, and when he opened the door, Crosby entered the building and said she was late. The sheriff’s office report states that Crosby told the deputy that she left her car in the parking lot with her 4-year-old and 9-year-old grandchildren inside the vehicle.

DCSO officials said that Crosby also informed a district security officer who then told Crosby she could not leave the children in the car. According to the report, Crosby proceeded past him and into the board room while directing the security officer “to go watch them.”

The security officer then told his supervisor and the Dorchester County deputy of the situation who both went out to the parking lot and saw the car which was running with all of the doors locked.

The supervisor and deputy saw the two children with the female child still strapped into the car seat. When the deputy told the security supervisor that it was a “major safety hazard” and that he would forcefully enter the vehicle in order to get the kids, the supervisor went into the building to get the vehicle keys from Crosby who was seated at the board meeting.

The report states Crosby told the supervisor that the keys were “still in the car somewhere.” The supervisor then returned to the car and convinced one of the children to unlock the door.

The supervisor then turned off the car and removed the children. He reported that when he offered to take the children to their grandmother, the older child said they could not enter the building because they had been exposed to COVID, and also said their mother was coming from West Ashley to get them.

According to the report, the supervisor then asked a security officer to watch them until their mother arrived twenty minutes later.

After being told by a security officer that she couldn't leave her grandchildren in the car, she demanded that a security guard watch her grandchildren. The security guard reported the white, privileged, ignorant woman to the Sheriff's Dept. She locked herself out of the car.

Anti-maskers and antivaxxers whine that we must let covid run it's course throughout schools, damn the consequences. No masks! No vax! No quarantine of children! It's child abuse to make children wear masks. Kids are all going to commit suicide if schools aren't in-person!

But then there's San Fran. All employees vaxed. Almost all children 12-18 vaxed. Masks worn at all times. Social distancing enforced.

In San Fran children have the freedom to learn in-person with other children.

There have been no COVID-19 outbreaks in San Francisco schools since students and educators went back into classrooms on Aug. 16, the San Francisco Department of Public Health announced Thursday, noting that about 90% of children ages 12 to 17 are fully vaccinated.

An outbreak, the department said, means there are "three or more cases in non-related households in which the source of infection occurred at the school, and not another setting."

While the department reported there have been 227 COVID-19 cases — out of 52,000 students and nearly 10,000 staff — the "vast majority" of those cases are occurring outside of schools.


Serious forms of pediatric COVID-19 are even more rare, with less than five children hospitalized for the virus at any given time in San Francisco. There are currently no children who are hospitalized for COVID-19 in the city, the health department said.

The data in San Francisco comes as the spread of COVID-19 among children rises in the country, especially in the last month as students head back to school for in-person learning.


The San Francisco health department also emphasized that vaccinations "are our best defense to protect children," noting most pediatric cases of COVID-19 in the city came from unvaccinated adults in a household getting the virus and spreading it to unvaccinated children.

Aren't they? My bro-in-law, being a geneticist, and a big-wig in the biology dept., was part of the team that planned and organizing the testing, which was originally two times a week (not sure what the deal is now). Dozens, maybe hundreds of universities/colleges around the country are doing this quite successfully. This is what our whole country would look like if not for the Neanderthal bludgeonings of #teamcoup. This is the tragedy.

Wichita Falls ISD has been losing students the last couple of years. They were projected to have 14,000 students this year. They only have about 12,000.

That means a big loss of state funding.

The school board is talking about consolidating elementary campuses and reducing staff.

Meanwhile the high school student population continues to grow so the 2 new high schools will be built as planned.

I suspect that part of the reduction of elementary school students is caused by parents home schooling in order to protect their unvaccinated kids.

Barbara Crosby has been charged. According to the warrant, she was charged with 2 counts of child endangerment and 1 count of misconduct in office by a public official.

Crosby surrendered herself. Bond was $25,000.

Update:The court issued a $25,000 bond to Dorchester School District Two board member Barbara Crosby. Each count of child endangerment was worth $10,000 and $5,000 was added for one count of misconduct in office. The judge did not deem her a flight risk or danger to the community, according to ABC News 4's Caroline Balchunas.

I can't find anything about this event anywhere. Heard's FB page only posts the Beacon's post. Heard has said nothing.

This did not happen like the Beacon says it happened.

Much earlier today I scrolled through the comments and only found support for the guy. But there were a lot of comments, so I may not have reached the ones that had more information.

On a happier note, we are not having big problems in the public schools, particularly on my island. Masks inside, no masks outside. We have the trade winds most days, which makes being unmasked safe if not clustering. Occasionally a student tests positive because of a contact - usually family - outside of school, but there is no spread in the classrooms. So far....

On the other hand, we have an island cluster that just keeps spreading. It started several weeks ago in a church private school that did not require masking. Other private schools have had a student with covid. One per school. No spreading, just like the public schools.
