Apparently, there are some allegations that she violated campaign laws by appearing in an ad for a Super Pac, back in December.
Federal election laws forbid a candidate from coordinating with a Super pac. But there seems to be a bit of loop hole if the action is not for that particular candidate, so she might be in the clear. I believe the ad was for one of the Republican candidates in the January runoff in Georgia.

Lobbyists are not gonna sink cold hard sweet kickback cash into someone who only gets to vote yes or no on the House floor.

I was less thinking lobbyists and more the various campaigning and telemarketing consultants. She is bringing in a lot of money, and I would not be surprised if she started pushing to have some of that money flow to her kin or shell companies or something.Frater I*I wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 5:14 pm Lobbyists are not gonna sink cold hard sweet kickback cash into someone who only gets to vote yes or no on the House floor.

Re: Marjorie Taylor Greene [R - Deliverance Country]
She may push, but her fundraising consultants are likely not all that willing to give up dollars and renegotiate the contract. They will especially not want to do something that is very illegal (and just unethical) for this temporary flash in the pan. They have a prosperous business and they are not going to give up future fundraising profits for her.
While some fundraising consultants might push the envelope for some politicians, she is not smart enough to cover her tracks. That's a nasty risk to their future business outside of her contracts.
Maybe she will prove me wrong, though that will also prove me right that she is not smart enough to cut the risk to a fundraiser's business.

Re: Marjorie Taylor Greene [R - Deliverance Country]
One possible scenario I could see is since she is appeals so much to the 'outsider', she might attract some less well established consultants that are more willing to take chances. The big ones might see her as a flash in the pan, but some new small fish might see her as an opportunity to become big fish.northland10 wrote: ↑Tue May 25, 2021 8:32 am Maybe she will prove me wrong, though that will also prove me right that she is not smart enough to cut the risk to a fundraiser's business.
Right now that money she is bringing in to consultants is probably a big part of why the GoP is tolerating her, and she is actually being kinda smart by going with the consultants that the GoP works with already.. but she she might be full enough of herself to believe she can take that superstart fundraising power to someone lesser known who promises her a cut.

Don't just headline McCarthy's statement. He, of course, makes some crazy swipe/attack on Pelosi after criticizing MTG.
Re: Marjorie Taylor Greene [R - Deliverance Country]
Exactly. The potshots at Pelosi are the real point of his statement.

I especially like how he details the steps they are taking to get her in line.McCarthy wrote: “Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling. The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity committed in history. The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling.
“At a time when the Jewish people face increased violence and threats, anti-Semitism is on the rise in the Democrat Party and is completely ignored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
“Americans must stand together to defeat anti-Semitism and any attempt to diminish the history of the Holocaust.
“Let me be clear: the House Republican Conference condemns this language.”
Not Pelosi, he's pretty clear about condemning her. She's anti-Semitic. He just says MTG is wrong and "condemns this language". MTG is A-OK though, just wrong and using bad language. There's still plenty of room for her under the Big Crazy tent.
But Pelosi, we must stand against her.

Not supporting Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people is antisemitism per the GQP.

Ah. You mean like how our demanding accountability for individual blatant incidents of police brutality means we are anti-cop, and believe all cops are racists.
Got it.
Got it.

Re: Marjorie Taylor Greene [R - Deliverance Country]
This has been a problem for a long time. Any criticism of the Israeli government is automagically characterized as antisemitism by some, and Republicans are especially adept at it. It's one of the main reasons that many Democratics are so reluctant to criticize Bibi. I think they should just start naming him personally, instead of using the word Israel or talking about Israeli crimes against the Palestinian people. We should start specifically saying the "Israeli government" crimes against the Palestinian people. That would make it harder to convert. Not that they won't, but fewer people will fall for that kind of BS if we specify it's the Israeli government policies that are so wrong.

Steve Scalise has identified the _real_ problem as well, it's "dangerous anti-Semitism that is growing in our streets and in the Democrat party." Not MTG, but he'll go ahead and say he doesn't agree with her.

Video Shows Marjorie Taylor Greene Saying She Wouldn’t Take Down Hitler, Satan Statues In 2020

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who is under fire for comparing coronavirus cautionary measures to the Holocaust, argued against the removal of statues in 2020 by stating that she would fight the removal of statues of Hitler and Satan in newly unearthed video.
The comments were made at a Dalton, Georgia, city council meeting on June 15, after Greene finished first in her GOP primary, and video of the remarks was first resurfaced by Punchbowl News reporter Jake Sherman.
Greene took aim at “attacks” on statues of Christopher Columbus, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, stating she would oppose removing statues of people she “fully disagrees with.”
Greene specifically named Adolf Hitler and “Satan himself” as examples, stating “I would not want to say take it down,” so she could “teach others about who these people are, what they did.”
The development comes as Greene is taking heat even from GOP leaders for comparing mask mandates and other coronavirus restrictions to the yellow stars European Jews were forced to wear during the Holocaust.
Forbes has reached out to Greene’s office for comment.
KEY BACKGROUND
Greene has often landed in hot water for comments she made before she was sworn into office in January. In February, she had her committee assignments stripped over past comments and social media posts promoting conspiracy theories and advocating political violence.

MTG is so clever how she flips the narrative. Clearly she paid attention during kindergarten: We aren't poo-poo. You're poo-poo.

Who else do we know who does that?
And Hillary dead on, as usual.
