I think you call it when you suggest this choice was about Obama vibes, literally, "HOPE." Plouffe's being added to the campaign is no accident.

I understand what you are saying about the pressure (especially for a woman) to be charismatic. Yet, in this regard, her immediate competition isn't Obama, but rather the dour old dud who's just mean and negative.

I think the selection of Walz nicely rounds out the "who'd you rather have a beer with?" vibes. Harris and Walz project energetic and optimistic, which sells better than dark and weird.

I wish this election was going to be based on something more substantive (because it'll be enormously consequential), but a good card for the hand dealt.

Tim Walz is very impressive. His selection has brought the Democratic Party together, and he celebrates the same sense of joy in running as Kamala Harris.

I officially predict that the two of them will be elected in November and that the Trump campaign will completely collapse by September 17, 2024.

"Soldier" is the key word here.

And if you don’t know, I’ll spell it out. Walz rose to the enlisted grade of Command Sergeant Major. That’s E-9. The only enlisted grade higher than that is Sergeant Major of the Army (E-10), and there’s only ever one E-10 at a time in each branch service (I honestly don’t know, and can’t be bothered to find out, whether the Space Force has an E-10).
