I called the other day when I said the media was anointing Scalise as if he had already been elected Speaker. The problem was they forget we are dealing with anything but a normal political party. The Republicans are a group of nihilists hell bent on blowing up government if they cannot control it.

Wouldn't Speaker of the House be kind of going backward on the career trajectory? Reminds me of the early Star Trek movies where Captain Kirk kept getting busted. I half expected him to be a Private First Class by Star Trek IV.

I remember, not all that long ago, that there was a joke that, when the Democrats arranged a firing squad, they stood in a circle. Back then, the R's were known for keeping party members in line and voting strictly the way the leadership told them to.

Now, its the Republicans. Its like trying to herd cats.

The Democrats, OTOH, are staying pretty much together on most issues (at least the important ones).

Maybe he's bought into the Brunsons' belief that, any day now, SCOTUS is going to declare that the 2020 election is null and void and that the court will rule that both Biden and Harris are instantly removed from office.
