I think the days of pollination are in the past for most of us pgirl. So, here's some hugs, and no kisses. I promise.

As for caring without grieving - impossible. When you have an open heart, you offer it freely.

Absolutely not! You know what you are capable of handling, and you've made no commitment to anyone that would call on you to be in that situation. You certainly don't owe it to anyone to put yourself there.

I saw a movie where a widowed mother told her adult daughter she never remarried because she had enjoyed her marriage relationship so much she didn't feel the need to be married again or in an intimate relationship.

Hubby and I both have come to that conclusion. We have enjoyed our relationship (most of the time), but see no need to have another. Cats and dogs and horses and close friends and family members are fully satisfying.

Ditto. If my husband were to die, I would not remarry. I can only imagine the grief involved in the transition period after the loss of a spouse. Your posts, Patagonia Girl, gives hope that all of us can come the other side in one piece. :bighug:

100% agree.

There is such a thing as a work spouse. No hanky-panky. No funny business. No emotional affair. Just a kindred soul of the opposite sex with whom you work closely on common goals or ideas. A person with whom you can share stories or thoughts that you'd rather not necessarily burden your loved ones. A person that you can trust to keep his/her mouth shut and offer up suggestions and guidance if need be.

Her last post on FB, on Valentine's Day. I will miss hearing her wit and wisdom.

A fitting parting shot.

Patagonia Girl was among the very first Fogbowser I remember from my time as a lurker here during the run up to OAS 'Operation American Spring'. I miss her. May she live on in our memories.
