In addition to their signage issues*, there may be some trademark problems ahead. I'm hoping Mike Dunford will chime in at some point.

*as to signage permits, I had to go through the process back in 2007-2008 when my company moved from Sunnyvale to San Jose. It was an incredibly drawn out process involving the Building Dept, design review committees, the planning commission, and, in our case, a grant committee, because grants were available, I'm cheap, and signage is freaking expensive. (a 2-sided monument sign & 3-d building sign together (neither illuminated) ran over $14k) it took about 4 months in SJ, and I have to figure San Francisco is at least as strict.
