This is weird. They asked for 30 minutes to fill out the forms. Would it take up to 30 minutes to check the "not guilty" box on each count? I'm not sure, but it seems like if "not guilty" they might only need about 10 minutes to check that box under each count.

Who the heck knows. Only the jury at this point. I am cautiously optimistic based on the 30 minute thing, which may be complete bollocks.

Yeah, my opinion was that if there was someone who needed convincing and getting the testimony and instructions reread convinced them, we would get a verdict soon. If the verdict did not come soon, then there was likely to be a holdout.

So I take this as good news.

My WAG is there wasn't serious disagreement over misdemeanor criming. But some disagreement over the kicker that would bump it up to a felony.

So I expect at least one guilty verdict. But uncertain as to which flavor.

Wouldn't disagreement mean hung? The jury did not hang. And no lesser charge. See my post above for Weissman's explanation. Nothing to do w kicker.

I just heard that theory on TV and it does seem a reasonable explanation for why they asked for 30 minutes - to make sure they indicated the right verdict for the right counts in the case of a mixed verdict. It would make sense that the ones he actually signed would be a no brainer and the others "weren't proven".
