Putin Is Preparing to Flee When Russia Implodes, Ex-Aide Says

https://www.thedailybeast.com/vladimir- ... etter%20PM
Abbas Gallyamov, a former speechwriter for Putin, made the astounding claim on Telegram early Wednesday, citing an unnamed source that he said had “insider” information on the whole affair.

The evacuation plan, according to Gallyamov, got underway back in the spring, when it was unofficially dubbed “Noah’s Ark.”

“As the name implies, it’s about a search for new land to go to in case it becomes completely uncomfortable in the homeland. The leader’s entourage has not ruled out that he will lose the war, be stripped of power, and have to urgently evacuate somewhere,” Gallyamov wrote.

Putin’s inner circle first considered a plan to evacuate to China, Gallyamov said, but later thought better of it, fearing the chances of “cooperation” from the Chinese were slim, especially since they despise “losers.” Now, he said, the focus has shifted to either Argentina or Venezuela, with Putin ally Igor Sechin currently overseeing an evacuation plan for the latter country.

Head of major Russian shipyard dies suddenly, no cause given

Story by Reuters
Published 6:27 AM EST, Sun December 25, 2022

A major Russian shipyard that specializes in building non-nuclear submarines said its general director had died suddenly on Saturday after 11 years in the job, but gave no details.

Admiralty Shipyards, based in the western port of St. Petersburg, announced the death of Alexander Buzakov in a statement. He had been in the job since August 2012.

His main achievement, it said, had been preserving and strengthening the shipyard’s order books for modern non-nuclear submarines, surface ships and deep water vehicles.

Tass news agency said the shipyard is building improved Kilo-class diesel-powered submarines capable of launching Kalibr cruise missiles.

In April, Moscow said it had used a diesel submarine in the Black Sea to strike Ukrainian military targets with Kalibrs.

The shipyard said Buzakov graduated in 1980 and had more than 40 years of experience, indicating he had been in his mid-sixties when he died. St. Petersburg is the home city of President Vladimir Putin.

The Wagner Group has been called everything from "Putin's ghost army" to "hired killers".

But perhaps the most brutal description comes from Ukraine's Ambassador to Australia: "Wagner can be considered the gangster contract killers of Putin's mafia state."

Indian police launch criminal investigation into mysterious death of Russian oligarch

Indian police have formed a crime team to investigate the death of one of Russia's richest politicians at an Indian hotel.

Key points:
Five Indian officers are investigating Pavel Antov's death
He died earlier this week in Odisha
Some Indian politicians are demanding an inquiry into his death

Pavel Antov founded Russian sausage company Vladimir Standard and was a member of parliament in the Vladimir region, east of Moscow.

He was travelling in Odisha with a group of three other Russians when one of them, Vladimir Budanov, died of a heart problem last week, according to local police.

Mr Antov, 65, then died at the weekend when Odisha police say he fell from the hotel's terrace.

Odisha police initially said that Mr Budanov had suffered a stroke and his friend died because he "was depressed after his death and he too died".

However, police have now confirmed to the ABC that they have launched a criminal investigation into the incident.

"A crime branch team, consisting of five officers, has been formed," an Odisha Police spokesman told the ABC.

"The team has [questioned] their interpreter … who was accompanying them and guiding them during their tour in Odisha, India.

"The team has also [questioned] the driver … who was driving the car during their Odisha tour."

Police say they have also collected medical and other documents, photographs, passports and documents relating to the pair's travel in India.

Officers are also speaking to a Russian couple who were travelling with Mr Antov and they have been moved to crime investigation headquarters in the Odisha city of Cuttack.

A post-mortem of Mr Antov's body reportedly shows he died of severe internal injuries.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov on Friday denied rumors of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s death which had spread on social media, calling them a hoax.

Information that Putin had died and that a doppelgänger had taken over his post is “an absurd information canard,” Peskov told Russian state-owned newswire RIA Novosti on Friday.

This is the second time this week that the Kremlin official has had to dismiss speculation about Putin’s health.

The Telegram channel previously claimed that Putin had to be "resuscitated" after guards found him convulsing and lying on the ground after suffering the alleged heart attack.

While details on Putin's alleged death remain unclear, the channel suggested that the late despot's body was being kept at the Valdai residence.

If Putin died you'd know it, because the withdrawal from the front lines would be Immediate and overwhelming.

I don't think he is dead,
Either....

But I suspect that he is pulling a Francisco Franco.

His health has been poor for a while.

I had heard a rumor in the last few weeks somewhere that he had had a heart attack, and they were using body doubles. It's probably all a rumor, but one can dream.

There have been periodic rumors about Putin's near demise over the last few years, with several widely reported instances since the Ukraine invasion began. None have panned out. It's like the old joke about how economists have predicted 9 of the last 5 recessions.

The strongman can't show any actual weakness ever, because then the underlings will start plotting to seize the throne. Yeah, Russia's a nominal democracy, but there will still be jockeying for power that will begin when the top guy is seen to be on the way down.

It may well be that Putin has spread the rumors while he's on vacation to see who starts getting interested in running in the upcoming elections. It could also be that some ambitious boyarchik is spreading this rumor to see if he attracts any support for taking over. In other words, it could be intentional disinformation.

Given the frequency of rumors, it's best to be cautious in believing them.

The only thing I felt was solid is he has had some tremors and unsteady gait in videos. He’s also shown some bloat at times. Nothing like he’s going to keep over but not perfect health.

True confession time:

SNL has ruined my ability to take Putin seriously despite everything he's doen and stands for -- I have since December of 2016 been unable to think of Vladimir Putin wihtiut picturing John Goodman as Rex Tillerson looking at Beck Bennett as Putin and calling him "Pootie." It's literally occupying a Pavlovian trigger space in my head.
