Threatening to call CPS on an adult? Putting hands on someone because you feel their skirt is too short? I’ve seen ass cheeks hanging out, and I’m not a fan. Sorry, I think it looks cheap and sleazy. But I would never say something, much less lay hands on someone. Mind yer business.

I've never seen any situation where placing hands on another (minor or not) would pass any legal argument unless there was some threat.

Much appreciated.

Ya, the video gives more context than the article did. The Girl was a brat but the Woman was clearly in the wrong here. And despite the news article repeating that she was a "teen" the girl is an adult at 19. And calling Child Protective Services? I heard CPS and I couldn't remember what it stood for.

The woman was probably having a very bad day and lashed out at the 19 year old. The 19 year old probably has good grounds for an assault charge.

WaPo opinion piece (gift link) on fake hillbilly J. D. Vance
If anthropologists in the distant future want to understand the utter depravity of our political culture in the first part of the 21st century, they could do worse than to study the life of J.D. Vance.

Ohio’s junior senator, you might have seen, turned up at the criminal courthouse in Manhattan this week, with his ultra-trendy woodsman’s beard and blood-red tie, to viciously attack the prosecutors and witnesses in the trial of Donald Trump.

I can’t say from experience how you’re supposed to know when you’ve officially become part of an organized crime family, but if you feel it necessary for your professional advancement to show up at a courthouse and pay respect to a patriarch charged with fraudulent payments to a porn star, chances are you check all the boxes.

Vance isn’t just another wiseguy wannabe, however. He’s the walking embodiment of a Republican Party that has devolved into full-on farce.

White was just endorsed by the Minnesota Republican party to run against Amy Klobuchar for U.S. Senate. But the primary is in August and White may not end up being the choice of the Republican voters at that point. This tweet describes him -

Aaron Rupar
@atrupar

This is who the Minnesota Republican Party just nominated to run against Amy Klobuchar. There are far worse tweets still live on his page that I'm not posting because I don't want to overly disturb people.
That tweet has a screen grab of a tweet from Royce White which I am not going to quote. It's vile.

This came from info@goptriumph. Triumph of the Will, perhaps? It also had no visible unsubscribe button or link, although it was in the coding. (I have a distant relative who keeps using my email address to sign up for Republican and gun lists, none of which seem to have heard of double opt in.) Maybe not behaving badly in the traditional sense, but OH THE HYPERBOLE. (Plus you have to imagine the red color that added to the sense of anxiety.)

Also, what has Garland done that's illegal?
DEMOCRATS ARE ABOVE THE LAW NOW?

That's how Merrick Garland views himself.

Everyone should be EQUAL in the eyes of the law!

This is Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna.

Inherent contempt of court is NO JOKE and I. am. certainly. not. laughing.

We as Americans have the right to get answers to questions Garland clearly does not want to answer.

I WILL NOT STOP FIGHTING until I feel like I can count on the DOJ to do their jobs again.
