“Giuliani is no-show in court conference after not complying with subpoena”:
https://www.independent.co.uk/news/worl ... 99155.html

“Rudy Giuliani failed to appear at a pre-motion conference in the Southern District of New York after he refused to respond to a subpoena, according to a lawyer for the plaintiffs.
Eight Capitol Police officers filed a civil suit in Washington, DC federal court in December 2021 against Donald Trump over the events surrounding the Capitol riot. Former Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani was subpoenaed in the case, but has failed to comply, prompting the plaintiffs to file a motion to compel in a separate court in New York. Giuliani failed to attend a conference regarding a hearing compeling him to comply with the subpoena.“

I am sure that the court will award him an adequate but not extravagant allowance. ;)

Filed in New Hampshire? Must have been the same lawyer for that case in 2023 filed in NH state court and possibly removed to the federal court. Nothing sure what happened to that case.

So far, this has been my favorite article about it:

https://lawandcrime.com/high-profile/ru ... disbarred/

But only for this quote:
In comment to Law&Crime, Giuliani political adviser Ted Goodman called the disbarment an “absolute travesty and a total miscarriage of justice” that is rooted in politics.

“Members of the legal community who want to protect the integrity of our justice system should immediately speak out against this partisan, politically motivated decision,” Goodman said. “The people coming after Mayor Giuliani can’t take away the fact that he remains the most effective prosecutor in American history, who did more to improve the lives of others than almost any other American alive today.”
No. Staaaahp. Can't breathe. :rotflmao:

Yes, Rudy did take down some mobsters, but for me, he is nothing like Patrick Fitzgerald. Fitzgerals office took down:

Libby Larson Scooter Libby :oopsy: (as special counsel)
Conrad Black
George Ryan (Gov of Illinois)
Rod Blagojevich (Gov after Ryan)
Tony Rezko, equal opportunity corruption partner (he worked both sides of the aisle)
A whole bunch of folks in Blago's world.
Operation Crooked Code - more Chicago corruption.

I miss the guy.

Giuliani's office also successfully prosecuted Ivan Boesky and Michael Milken, which were creditable achievements. But Giuliani also promoted the use of perp walks to humiliate defendants, and some of his highest profile white collar prosecutions, involving lurid arrests of senior investment bankers on their trading floors, collapsed or were reversed on appeal.

I agree that Fitzgerald had a far better record, in addition to being a far more ethical and honorable lawyer and prosecutor.

The name Patrick Fitzgerald rang a bell with me. I checked and I was right. He successfully prosecuted Scooter Libby too.

There's an American composer named Libby Larsen. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libby_Larsen

I bet that northland10 was thinking Scooter Libby, but his fingers were remembering the name of the composer. ;)

You're probably right. I saw Lewis "Scooter" Libby and, like a good musician in a hurry, transposed it in my head.

Libby Larsen has some wonderful stuff.

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani is racing against time to offload his Upper East Side condo, slashing the price by nearly $1 million in a desperate attempt to find a buyer.

The embattled ex-mayor faces the prospect of losing his prized possessions, including his Manhattan home, to settle a defamation lawsuit, The Post has learned.

In August, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss, two Georgia election workers who successfully sued Giuliani for over $140 million, requested a court order to seize his assets.

Among the items targeted: multiple properties, dozens of luxury watches, a Mercedes-Benz, and even his prized collection of New York Yankees World Series rings.

“He knows that he either has to sell the home quickly or risk losing it in court,” a source told The Post, speaking on condition of anonymity.
:snippity:
Among the more personal items visible in the listing photos is a replica of Joe DiMaggio’s Yankees jersey, a piece signed by the baseball legend and gifted to Giuliani in 2002. Whether or not the jersey — and Giuliani’s Yankees rings — will remain in his possession is still uncertain.

Caroline Rose Giuliani, the daughter of Donald Trump's former lawyer Rudy Giuliani, has endorsed Democratic nominee Kamala Harris for the upcoming US presidential election and declared that she was "grieving the loss of my dad to Trump. I cannot bear to lose our country to him too".

In an article for Vanity Fair magazine, Caroline Rose Giuliani said that she wanted to "remind Americans of just how calamitous being associated with Trump can be, even for those who are convinced he's on their side".

"Watching my dad's life crumble since he joined forces with Trump has been extraordinarily painful, both on a personal level and because his demise feels linked to a dark force that threatens to once again consume America," she added.

Caroline Rose Giuliani's endorsement of Harris came a week after a federal appeals court on September 23 permanently disbarred Rudy Giuliani from practising law in Washington D.C. for the efforts he made to discredit the 2020 election results and prevent the transition of power after Trump lost the polls.
