Excellent job the reporter who spoke with Rudy. Both on the scene and then explaining the situation back in the studio.

Creditors, the judge and a Justice Department official signaled
that they were running out of patience with the former New York mayor’s
accounts of his financial condition.
New York Times, June 17, 2024
Rudolph W. Giuliani’s creditors and the judge overseeing his bankruptcy case aired their frustrations with him in court on Monday after months in which he has provided incomplete information about his finances, missed filing deadlines or failed to have his lawyers respond at all.
Mr. Giuliani’s creditors have asked the bankruptcy judge to appoint an independent trustee to take over his personal and business finances, citing his failures to comply with routine filings and their growing suspicion that he is hiding money.

“There are reasons to be very concerned here,” Judge Sean H. Lane of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Southern District of New York said at the end of a nearly three-hour hearing.
Mr. Giuliani’s reports to the bankruptcy court about his spending have been incomplete and confusing. He has at times said his only sources of income were Social Security benefits and his radio show and podcast, but none of his monthly reports show any compensation. He reports spending more than he earns, and his reported cash balances at the end of one month often conflict with those at the beginning of the next month.
Bankruptcy lawyers for Mr. Giuliani have said his late and incomplete filings were partially because of his inability to find a bookkeeper or accountant to work for him — something Judge Lane said on Monday was troubling and “exceedingly rare” in a case like his.
One of Mr. Giuliani’s lawyers, Heath Berger, said he received an email Monday morning from someone who was interested in the bookkeeping job. And he said Mr. Giuliani’s monthly finances for May should be filed in the next few days. But similar promises have been broken before.

Rudy Giuliani got eviscerated at his bankruptcy hearing today!
Judge Lane slammed Rudy’s failure to comply with deadlines and his poor bookkeeping skills.
“At a certain point, a failure to comply with orders means my voice will take on a decided edge,” Judge Lane admonished him. “If people don’t obey court orders, it’s a profound problem.”
Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss’ attorney also got a dig in. “When someone shows you who they are, believe them,” Rachel Strickland told the judge. She went on, “He’s not a doddering 80-year-old. He is a shrewd and manipulative man. His reports are false, inconsistent, and late. His deadlines are ignored.”
The lawyer representing the creditors Rudy owes said that because of Giuliani’s unwillingness to cooperate and file his monthly expenses: “I would imagine we may be seeking sanctions as well” at the next hearing.
Rachel Bilbo Block further went on to say, Rudy needed to “rein in his spending,” pointing out his $26,000 in credit card payments.
The creditors were also “unanimous” in wanting a trustee appointed to the case to oversee Rudy’s finances.
Rudy’s defense? It would be “harmful” to the creditors.
The judge did apparently seem favorable about appointing a trustee but stopped short of an immediate ruling after saying “There are reasons to be very concerned here. I’m not going to beat a dead horse.”
I love this for Rudy.

When American Airlines used fake bankruptcy to gut labor contracts and employee pensions, Lane said to AA: “You have $6b in liquid and you are filing bankruptcy. Your employee pensions will not be eradicated.” Thanks to Judge Lane, I still have my pension.

- Rudy spends ~2/3 (!) of his $45k monthly income on common charges for two condo apts.
- He has expensive phone plans from BOTH Verizon and AT&T.
- His maid service appears to be double billing him.

Rudy Giuliani’s bankruptcy creditors just filed a motion overnight to hold him and his girlfriend Maria Ryan in contempt of court for refusing to produce documents as ordered.
They want daily fines for a sanction.
Hearing July 10th.

Rudy’s creditors took a minute to remind the Judge (in not so many words) that the entire reason he’s in bankruptcy now is his past refusal to follow court orders or produce discovery when Shay Moss and Ruby Freeman sued him for defamation and won $150 million.

A liquidation trustee will oversee financial affairs for the former New York mayor and ex-lawyer for Donald Trump
Rudy Giuliani gave up on settling the lawsuits that pushed him into chapter 11 and asked to convert his personal bankruptcy case to an asset liquidation overseen by an outside trustee.
The former New York mayor and ex-lawyer for Donald Trump is effectively giving up control of his financial affairs by converting to chapter 7, which provides a more streamlined process to sell assets to repay debt.
His filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York didn’t provide a reason for the request to convert to a liquidation. Giuliani had been facing pressure from his creditors, including the two Georgia election workers he was found to have defamed during the aftermath of the 2020 presidential election.

MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell announced this week that he is giving former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani a job.
On Tuesday, Lindell appeared on Steve Bannon's WarRoom show where guest hosts are filling in after Bannon surrendered himself to prison this week.
"Speaking of Rudy Giuliani...we hired him over at FrankSpeech.com. He's on my network now. He follows Steve Bannon, it's Steve Bannon, and then after him is Lou Dobbs and then myself," Lindell said.
While speaking with Newsweek on Tuesday, Lindell explained that he hired Giuliani this week after he was suspended from WABC Radio where he hosted a daily show. Giuliani was suspended from the radio network in May after making unfounded claims about the 2020 election, the Associated Press reported.
"They cancelled him," Lindell told Newsweek. "He started yesterday. I'm on his show tonight."
Lindell also told Newsweek that Giuliani will be hosting a daily show throughout this week on his FrankSpeech network.
