At a range of basically zero inches as the round passed the lump of lard masquerading as a head, at multiples of the speed of sound, a graze would have blown his eardrum out.

As someone who has had his eardrum ruptured (too close to a bad lads boom thing) believe me, Lard Lad wouldn't have been standing and waving his stubby little paw about. It is excruciatingly painful, massively disorientating and balance and orientation is shot.
