Love the Oak Ridge Boys! They are super nice guys too. I worked at a 6-screen movie theatre many decades ago and they came in one night and asked what our usual attendance was for an evening and then bought more than the total we normally sold and asked us to tell everyone we were "sold out" and couldn't let anyone else in. My boss was a HUGE fan so of course he said yes. They hung out for several hours, watched some of the movies and ate popcorn all night.

This is a big one for me—and millions--Richard Simmons passed at 76, just a day after his birthday. I worked for Richard for years and created his website. I spoke to him recently. He was truly unique; we bonded over our love of Broadway show tunes—he'd start one, and the challenge was if I could finish it. His fans were like none I've ever seen, treating him like the Pope or royalty. We did several Carnival Cruise to Loses, and he often annoyed me and his manager, Michael Catalano. One good thing about Carnival was their pizza. Late at night (Richard was always in bed super early), I'd go up to the top of the ship with a camera, and there they were—the ladies from the cruise, getting and eating pizza. I got them! They were incredibly nice to me for the rest of the cruise -- I had the goods on them. I was also in the Letterman studio when Dave had Richard's Salton appliance rigged to blow up and never saw Richard so mad. Turned out the show was right before a hiatus so there was no way for Dave to explain it was a joke. That "Steam Heat" steamer was out of production lightning fast. Sweet dreams, Dickie, you'll be missed. :brokenheart:

One of the funniest clips ever:

Ruth was one of a kind, produced shows with her. She was a tough cookie -- she told me stories about being a commando pilot in the Israeli army. Hearing that from this tiny lady still makes me laugh. She loosened up a lot of Americans about sex, she's a legend.

Here they are together:
