In this episode, Tom Fitton accuses Biden of beating his dogs.
Ron Filipkowski @RonFilipkowski wrote: Trump’s social media non-lawyer legal advisor Tom Fitton claims he has “a source” that told him Biden beats his dogs.
And when Biden gets done with that, I hope he moves on to Tom Fitton!

I'd never heard of Alembik. The linked article reports he tweeted “Ruth Bader Ginsburg can’t die soon enough” in 2013.

So, it's a shame Alembik didn't die earlier himself. The world is certainly not worse for his departing

Alembik doesn't sound like someone I would mourn. As I read the story, the back of my head considered mental illness. Then I read Laura Loomer brought it up. Fuck that. Fuck him. If she's defending him, he's a straight up prick, and we're all better off. So long, and good riddance.

US Republican state senator Jeff Wilson arrested over carrying gun into Hong Kong, barred from leaving city
Jeff Wilson, a Washington state Republican senator, reportedly called the police on journalists who photographed him as he walked out of the courthouse on Monday.

A US state senator has been charged with possessing arms without a license after he was found with a revolver at Hong Kong airport.

Jeff Wilson, a Republican senator from Washington state, appeared at Shatin Magistrates’ Courts on Monday following his Saturday arrest. He was released on a cash bail of HK$20,000 and ordered to hand over his travel documents and not to leave Hong Kong, local media reported.

Sing Tao Daily reported that Wilson, as well as his wife and two men who were with him, got into an altercation with reporters who took photos of him as he was leaving the courthouse. The police were called, with Wilson’s group demanding reporters delete the photos saying Wilson had not consented to being photographed.

Police arrived on the scene to mediate, as Wilson and his wife threatened to photograph the reporters in retaliation.

Wilson is scheduled to appear at West Kowloon Magistrates’ Courts next Monday.

Maybe I'm stupid, but how did he get INTO Hong Kong with a gun?

They have been confiscating more and more guns at Pittsburgh International Airport this year. It always makes the news, but I'd guess that some still make it through.

I don't think he got in. I suspect it was in his checked baggage and he got nailed when going through customs in Hong Kong.

Might the gun have been in his hold baggage? Would that be a problem leaving the USA? I have no idea what US rules and procedures are for guns in hold baggage, domestic or international.

It was in his briefcase, which he said was an honest mistake as he forgot he was packing or something, and somehow he made it through TSA.

Was he in the clear until he called the cops on the journalists? I'd like to think he shot his own foot off.

Early January 2002, I'm at Metro Detroit (DTW) flying out to the bay area for a week of overnight, unescorted surveying of a joint NASA/AF base. As I'm going through the massively enhanced security checkpoint, my carry-on luggage gets flagged.

"Sir, do you have any weapons?"

"No"

"Are you sure?"

"Since you're asking in that tone of command, I'm guessing you're seeing something that looks like one."

The TSA agent then shows me the screen, which shows the tiny bodice knife not-yet-Dr. not-yet-Vicklund was gifted for Christmas while we were visiting friends a few days earlier. Fortunately, they believed me when I explained what happened and that I just missed it when unpacking. I think the clincher was that we couldn't find it at first and had to run it through the scanner a second time - it had gotten into a fold. Luckily I came early and was able to get my parents to come out to pick up the knife without missing my plane.

My husband once left a new small knife in a carryon piece. I can't remember which airport it was, somewhere out West, but they let him mail it to himself with a fee. It's possible that it was in Canada, but I don't think so, and within the last ten years or so, I think.

Edited to add: It was in Montreal, first trip with it, not when it was brand new.

I once got pulled aside and the agent started going through my carefully packed luggage. Finally I asked him "what are you looking for?" and he said "throwing star". I immediately knew what he wanted:

It's a pin - about the right size, I suppose. I about fell over laughing; the idea of me being competent with a throwing star was just ridiculous!

On a Hong Kong trip, Estiveo's Mom packed a few fragile souvenirs in her carry-on for the trip home. To her surprise, she had to make other arrangements for a 12" long jade sword, because a weapon's a weapon, ma'am.

SWMBO sometimes forgets to take her fruit knife out of her purse and put in her checked baggage. Its really a letter opener in the form of a 6 inch samurai sword co plete with cover scabbord whatever its called. Its sharp enough to cut a apple, just, and she loves it. She has never been pulled up for it but she has lost a wine cork screw with a capsule cutter.

Ex-Utah county clerk accused of shredding, mishandling 2020 and 2022 ballots

Utah prosecutors have charged a former county clerk for allegedly shredding and otherwise mishandling ballots from the 2020 and 2022 elections

CHEYENNE, Wyo. -- Utah prosecutors have charged a former county clerk with three felonies and other counts for allegedly shredding and otherwise mishandling ballots from the 2020 and 2022 elections.

The alleged misdeeds involved ballots cast by about 5,000 voters in Juab County, a desert area of west-central Utah with about 12,000 residents.

Former Juab County Clerk/Auditor Alaina Lofgran is accused of allowing ballots to be shredded soon after the 2022 election in violation of a law requiring their preservation for at least 22 months. The law is for aiding recounts.

Lofgran, a registered R, did not seek reelection in 2022.

And according to the article she was aware of the law, and proceeded with the document destruction anyway. May she enjoy her retirement in the Utah State penitentiary.
