Re: Australia
Australia is a commie socialist hellhole because everyone has healthcare, poor bastards. The brutality of the regime has brainwashed the sheeples into thinking about others instead of just themselves.

Every single living thing in Australia that doesn't call you "mate" is trying to brutally murder you REAL SOON. You've seen the videos of the giant poison sneks and the Insects From HELL. I could sleep outdoors in a tent if somebody burned it to the ground with a flamethrower first.

Here’s why Americans have been protesting against Australia’s lockdown restrictions

Worth a read. Deathsantis makes an appearance! On Tuesday, hundreds of Americans gathered in New York City to supposedly save Australia from tyrannical COVID-19 restrictions.
One protester held a sign reading: ‘What is happening in Melbourne?’
Melbourne, a city of five million people, has recorded 877 COVID-related deaths.
New York City, with a population of 8.5 million people, has recorded more than 34,000 COVID-related deaths.
The Americans chanted “end medical apartheid” and “we support Australia”, as if those same sentiments were commonplace here.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis compared Australia to “communist China” in a recent speech. His state, with a smaller population than Australia, has suffered 55,000 COVID deaths and 3.6 million infections.
You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy.

Eddie Obeid, Ian Macdonald jailed over mine licence conspiracy
Former New South Wales Labor Ministers Eddie Obeid and Ian Macdonald have been jailed over a mine licence conspiracy .
Macdonald, has been jailed for at least five years and three months.
Eddie Obeid has been given a minimum three years and 10 months sentence.
Eddie Obeid's son Moses has been jailed for at least three years over the conspiracy.
The three men were found guilty of conspiring for Ian Macdonald to commit misconduct in public office by granting a coal exploration licence for the Obeid family farm in the Bylong Valley when he was Resources Minister.
The landmark case follows a sensational Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) inquiry that started almost a decade ago.
The conspiracy occurred when Macdonald was Resources minister from 2007 to 2009, and a rigged tender led to a $30 million windfall for the Obeid family.
In sentencing the men, Justice Elizabeth Fullerton said their criminal culpability was high and they were "opportunistic" and "complicit" in knowing Macdonald would breach his ministerial duties for the financial benefit of the Obeid family.
Justice Fullerton said the men knew the Obeid family "positioned" themselves with a mining company before the mine tender was issued.
She said Eddie and Moses Obeid were "motivated by a desire to maximise financial benefit to themselves and their families".
The court heard Macdonald made no financial benefit from the deal, but was perhaps repaying Eddie Obeid for political patronage.
After a judge alone trial, the men were found guilty of conspiring for Macdonald to commit misconduct in public office by granting a coal exploration licence for the Obeid family farm Cherrydale Park in the Bylong Valley, when he was Resources Minister from 2007 to 2009.
A rigged tender led to a $30 million windfall for the Obeid family and they stood to make another $30 million from it, until the state government cancelled the licence.
The judge found Macdonald committed five acts of misconduct in setting up and granting the licence, that Moses Obeid took a "hands-on approach" in exploiting the misconduct, and that his father Eddie had knowledge of it.
The three men did not give evidence at the trial.
Justice Fullerton said each of the men has loving families, and noted that Eddie Obeid and Macdonald had medical issues.

Perhaps it argues that they have support networks for rehabilitation and the need for lower security goal..
Or at least nodding at that at sentencing so that those factors/arguments/excuses might not have weight with the appeal court…
I’d have given them 90% of the maximum sentence.

After removing any tentacles from your body, most experts agree using vinegar as first aid is helpful, or at least not harmful.
World-renowned jellyfish expert Lisa-ann Gershwin said putting vinegar on a sting could save someone's life.
"In the tropics, vinegar is the thing that will give you the best chance of actually surviving a potentially lethal sting," Dr Gershwin said.
"The vinegar actually locks the stinging cells so they can't discharge."
As for the age-old rumour about peeing on a jellyfish sting, Tasmania-based Dr Gershwin said it came down to "are you feeling lucky?"
"Our urine changes its pH with the time of day, hydration, food, age, seasonality," she said.
"If it's in an acidic state, it will work 25 per cent as well as vinegar at killing the stinging cells.
"But if it's in an alkaline state it will cause an immediate and massive discharge of all the stinging cells."

and don't pour fresh water on them!
While the home remedy suggestion of using hot water was potentially useful for treating stings from less dangerous jellyfish in southern waters, Dr Gershwin warned it was dangerous to use in places where Irukandji and box jellyfish lived.
"That could kill someone," she said.
"When you apply freshwater to a jellyfish sting, the freshwater causes the stinging cells to discharge — so you get immediate, massive discharge of all of the stinging cells that haven't fired yet."
She said beach-goers often were not sure what type of jellyfish had stung them, so the best advice was to never use freshwater, hot or cold, to treat any jellyfish stings in the north.

Australia lists neo-Nazi organisation The Base, Lebanese Shia party Hezbollah as terrorist organisations
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-11-24/ ... /100646300
Australia has listed white supremacist group The Base as a terrorist organisation, making it a criminal offence to be a member.
Key points:
A neo-Nazi group found actively recruiting in Australia will be listed as a terror organisation
the entirety of Lebanese political party and militant group Hezbollah will also be listed
The designations make it a criminal offence to be a member of The Base or Hezbollah
Earlier this year, the ABC revealed The Base was actively targeting men as young as 17 for recruitment in Australia.
The Base group was formed in 2018 and has sought to establish terrorist cells in several nations in an attempt to establish a fascist, white ethno-state.
Australia's domestic intelligence agency, ASIO, has warned right-wing extremists such as members of The Base now account for one-third of its investigations.
Anyone guilty of terrorist organisation offences, including being a member, recruiting, receiving training or acquiring funds for a terrorist organisation can face imprisonment for up to 25 years.

Mystery fish being eaten by Australians found to be unknown to science
‘Tasty’ grouper found being sold in Queensland was completely new species
Harry Cockburn
Monday 04 November 2019 15:00
A fish previously unknown to science has been discovered – on Australians’ plates.
People in southeastern Australia had apparently been happily catching and eating a reportedly tasty type of grouper, without realising the somewhat unremarkable fish had not been officially documented.
The discovery was only made when Queensland Museum fish expert Jeff Johnson was contacted by a fisherman who had sent him a photo of a grouper, also known in Australia as a “rockcod”, which he had never seen before.
When Mr Johnson asked for the fisherman to send him the sample to examine, he was told the fish had already been sent to market.
So Mr Johnson decided to undertake his own detective work, and eventually he found five of the large fish for sale at a market in Brisbane’s North Lakes.

https://www.smh.com.au/lifestyle/life-a ... 5a3lm.htmlServing suggestion: Could conscription ease the hospitality staffing crisis?
If all our school-leavers were conscripted to do a week of basic hospo skills before moving onto a month or two of employment in a local restaurant or cafe, our hospitality scene would be revitalised.
But why stick to just school-leavers? What about retirees? Refugees and asylum-seekers? You? Me? Just a quick skills-oriented course to learn the basics, then get matched to employers as if it’s date night. It would do us the world of good. Not to mention turn us all into diners who appreciate being looked after, who are always nice to their serving staff, and who don’t think twice about leaving a nice fat tip.

NEW PRIME MINISTER ELECTED!!!!!
I didn't get around to enlightening you all with the highly entertaining (not) election.
But Scottie "from marketing" Morrison has been kicked out on his ass.
Anthony Albanese may yet need to cooperate with the Greens, or a couple of independents to form government but Labor has won the election.
