That remains unclear, due to less than rigorous methodology.

Suicide-Related Outcomes Following Gender-Affirming Treatment: A Review

...

Abstract

Gender-affirming treatment remains a topic of controversy; of particular concern is whether gender-affirming treatment reduces suicidality. A narrative review was undertaken evaluating suicide-related outcomes following gender-affirming surgery, hormones, and/or puberty blockers. Of the 23 studies that met the inclusion criteria, the majority indicated a reduction in suicidality following gender-affirming treatment; however, the literature to date suffers from a lack of methodological rigor that increases the risk of type I error. There is a need for continued research in suicidality outcomes following gender-affirming treatment that adequately controls for the presence of psychiatric comorbidity and treatment, substance use, and other suicide risk-enhancing and reducing factors. There is also a need for future systematic reviews given the inherent limitations of a narrative review. There may be implications on the informed consent process of gender-affirming treatment given the current lack of methodological robustness of the literature reviewed.

The Wisconsin GOP's threat to impeach a judge is playing with fire
The GOP's attack on democracy could be fatal — for the GOP.

Wisconsin Republicans have moved past election denial, straight to election nullification.

If the GOP follows through on its threats, it will impeach a newly elected Supreme Court justice before she has ruled on any major case. It’s hard to imagine a more direct attack on democracy than overturning an election — or a more direct attack on the independent judiciary — but Republicans in the Badger State appear to be fully prepared to do just that. And if they go through with it, it will have huge ramifications in a crucial swing state in 2024.

Even though the GOP may be having second-thoughts, state legislative leaders are still keeping the option open, because they see the new 4-3 liberal majority on the state’s high court as an existential threat to their power.

To understand why this is happening, we need to look at the numbers:

Crank up your Google machine, and look for South Carolina on a map. Then locate Laurens County where US Rep Jeff Duncan (R) resides. He proudly hosted the Faith and Freedom BBQ this year. Now he's looking at a divorce from his wife.

Jeff "I bang everyone but my wife" Duncan (R-SC) and massive "family values" moron, up for divorce because his wife is done with him:

When Jeff Duncan left his "Faith and Freedom BBQ" at the end of August, after calling Melody Duncan his loving and supportive wife, he then went "directly to the home of his paramour."

Melody Duncan, wife of U.S. Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-SC 3rd District, filed for divorce Friday at the Laurens County Courthouse. In the filing, she accuses the 13-year conservative representative of having multiple extramarital affairs, and leaving their marital home to live with a woman he's having an ongoing sexual relationship with.

Foggy may want to comment on this ... reducing accountability with greater legislative process opacity by narrowing the cleansing light of day down to a pinhole.

North Carolina Republicans create "secret police force"

North Carolina’s new $300 billion state budget contains a provision that gives extraordinary investigative powers to a partisan oversight committee co-chaired by Senate Leader Phil Berger (R) and House Speaker Tim Moore (R).

The Joint Legislative Committee on Government Operations — or Gov Ops for short — is empowered to seize “any document or system of record” from anyone who works in or with state and local government during its investigations. The rule applies to contractors, subcontractors, and any other non-state entity “receiving, directly and indirectly, public funds,” including charities and state universities.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

I'm waiting for her wedding planner to drop her for "sincerely held religious beliefs."

What? That only applies to teh gheys? Shameful.
Are we still sure she declined the sex?
