Great!
Does this mean I get a special hat?
A Fogbow themed walking stick?
Invite-only access to posts of extreme hardcore grumpiness?
You get your name in purple!

Yeah, umm ... I wish to aver that surgery is No Fun on a scale of No Fun At All.

But I seem to have survived the experience, and I think my arm is really fixed now.

So I got that goin' for me, which is nice. :oldman:

I hope your arm is fixed... but there is this cat giving me side-eyes. Be careful.

Isn't being in the hospital wonderful? I half jokingly say it is like living in a Ritz Carlton. Push a button and someone appears. 24-7 room service. (if you have insurance under the American system of non healthcare)

That's my experience too.

Them: "This might sting ..."
Me: "That's okay. Let me know when we're ready to begin ..."
Them: "You're in the recovery room. Everything went fine."

Yeah, I just walked 2 miles, and I barely made it. I'm spending:

20% of my day being terrified that my left shoulder is dislocated
20% of my day being terrified that my right shoulder is dislocated
20% of my day being terrified that both shoulders are dislocated

Then the rest of the time I take drugs and try to sleep. :blackeyebig:

It really is possible to have a dislocated shoulder and not know it, a mild one. On July 5th I had no idea my left was out. And they both hurt every day.

Tomorrow is two weeks since the revision, and I will see the doc and get new x-rays. Then we have to decide what to do if the revision didn't work.

My life is so exciting!

When you agree to a relatively new or untried procedure you go ahead knowing that there might well be “complications”, but when the procedure is “run of the mill” the expectation is that things will, at worst, be comparatively straightforward. Can’t imagine how much constant fear and distress your situation is causing. I hope they quickly identify what the problem(s) is/are and put both your mind and body at ease. What a nightmare. :bighug:

I'm so sorry to hear you're having so much trouble. That's gotta suck!

Thanks, girlfriend. Yes, it sucks. Why, if I didn't read Fogbow and realize there are people who are in way worser troubles than me, I would probably really enjoy spending some serious quality time feeling sorry for myself.

Dammit, what's happening with Lani? I have no way to find out. What kind of miracle has to happen to save Big D Cognito? There probably isn't one, long term. And I think about you, and pipi, and mrs_g, and others here.

In the big picture, I'm gonna eventually get through this Summer of Hell, and the knee replacement next year, and whatever else I have to go through. I'm not gonna go out without a hell of a fight. They're gonna have to beat me to death with a stick.

Until then, I'll continue to be grumpy, and irritating, and annoying, and grateful as hell for every single day of my life.

Like I said, at least it's exciting! :fiesta:

I’d tell you to hang in there Foggy, but I don’t think you should put any more stress on those shoulders right now!

So instead I’ll just send you :bighug: :bighug: :bighug:

Thanks, June bug, Andy and Annrc. Today I see the doc again, fresh x-rays, it's the 2 week followup to the revision surgery.

Last night at the dinner table I bet ol' Wifehorn $5 that my right shoulder is dislocated. If'n I win, at least I have five bucks. If'n she wins, it'll be the best five bucks I ever spent.

More will be revealed ...

I am now the proud owner of zero dislocated shoulders, so yay. :towel:

He still wants me to hold off on fizzikal therapy for four weeks. He gave me some isometric exercises to do.

I had to pay ol' Wifehorn $5, and it was good. 8-)

But it's only been two weeks since the revision surgery, so I am nowhere near getting out of post-op. That doesn't really end until 12 weeks. I still need the sling. I still need to sleep in the recliner. The nightmare continues apace. :(

Still a good day.
