Not that I have any favorite funerals but the least depressing ones had funny family anecdotes that made people laugh. I think that's a good thing.
RIP. I remember her well and was just wondering about her recently.NEW YORK (AP) — Frances Sternhagen, the veteran character actor who won two Tony Awards and became a familiar maternal face to TV viewers later in life in such shows as “Cheers,” “ER,” “Sex and the City” and “The Closer,” has died. She was 93.
Sternhagen died peacefully of natural causes Monday her son, John Carlin, said in a statement posted to Instagram on Wednesday. “Fly on, Frannie,” he wrote. “The curtain goes down on a life so richly, passionately, humbly and generously lived.” Sternhagen’s publicist confirmed the death and said it occurred in New Rochelle, New York.
One of the best I remember going to was for a local attorney. He was also in a dixieland/jazz/bluegrass type band, and his band played at the funeral. First and only time I've heard a banjo at a funeral!Slim Cognito wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2023 3:34 pm Not that I have any favorite funerals but the least depressing ones had funny family anecdotes that made people laugh. In the Sistine Chapel, Gore Vidal once came upon Henry Kissinger “gazing thoughtfully” at the Hell section of Michelangelo’s Last Judgment. “Look,” said Vidal to a friend, “he’s apartment hunting.”

Kissinger wouldn’t have died if Trump was president.
