So, umm ... medical update:

Doing better.

That's the update.

I'm glad we could have this talk. :bored:

Are you positive about that? Your board update says board will shut down briefly on FRIDAY, July 16.

"Scheduled Maintenance: We will shut down briefly at 6:00 a.m. Eastern (US & Canada), Fri, 16 July''

Doesn't say what year, though.

Yeah, it's always Sunday at 6:00 a.m. sharp, unless it isn't.

Today at 6, I did a full maintenance on the database, which is now poppin' fresh, right out of the oven.

But Friday I also shut down to install some extensions that make the board run better, and I'd been planning to put those in for a while but my sleep patterns are crazy because of wearing the sling and sleeping in the recliner, so I'd been putting it off until I thought I could get up at the right time.

Which I did, day before yesterday. So, umm ... yeah. I'm still a little discombobulated.

But doing better. ;)

Friday was the 14th.

Today, Sunday, is the 16th.

Which is why I am confused.

Yeah. Discombobulated. :stars:

I mean, I know that Friday the 14th was Bastille Day, but I probably messed up the announcement.

On the bright side, the new updated extensions seem to be working.

24 Hour Black Hole - the medical type

#1332

Post by Foggy »

So I fell into a medical black hole in the space-time continuum for 24 hours, a nightmare experience but it's over now.

Dislocated my left shoulder AGAIN - I wasn't doing anything, I was sitting down and reading my dang Kindle - and went through a horrible night, the pain pills weren't working and I was terrified of how now I definitely need a revision of my left arm, a second surgery that will be my fourth operation under total anesthesia in four months.

:(

But on the bright side, I already had an appointment with the shoulder specialist this morning, and he popped it back in, which was very painful but now it feels good.

I'm still terrified, it could pop out again if I give it a funny look or if I say the wrong thing about it on Fogbow.

And I still need a revision, which isn't even scheduled yet, so I am definitely going to dislocate it again before the next surgery, that's Murphy's Law.

Twenty four hours ago, I was suddenly in total agony and completely unable to use my left arm. Right now it feels pretty good. But can I trust either one of my arms?

No, I can't trust them. And it's becoming increasingly difficult to pretend I'm the geezer sooperman when I'm falling apart all over the place all the time. :(

I'm so sorry to hear you're having to deal with this! How awful! Is there anything they can do during the revision to help is stay in better?

Yeah, here's the thing:

I have to go see my dad. He is having struggles of his own, and we can help.

So unless I have a setback of some sort before Monday morning, I will be driving up to Bathysphere or wherever it is.

Ol' Wifehorn and I will walk 2 miles at 9:00 a.m., like we do. Then I will spend the day protecting the arm and doing therapy exercises. Gotta keep up the therapy exercises.

Worse comes to worst, I have a brand new unopened prescription for oxycodone, and a lot of Tramadol, and ol' Wifehorn can do some of the driving.

I have such an exciting life. :bored:

So, since my shoulders are almost gone, does that make me a rooster, too? :)

Yeah.

My shoulder fell out AGAIN. This morning, 9 a.m. :blackeye:

Y'all notice, I didn't say it popped out. It fell out. No popping detected.

After an hour of hassle, my doctor called. He's out of town on vacation for a week. I'm going to go to his office on Monday and they'll help me find someone to put it back again. Or maybe it will fall back in when I'm asleep. Or maybe I'll be hit by a meteor.

I have some oxycodone and some tramadol. I just have to hang on until Monday.

Hurts, tho ... :(

Sounds like you need some bungee cords and duct tape to keep that shoulder in place...

Ouch. My various aches and pains are flaring up just thinking about it. :bighug:

Tramadol doesn't seem to do any better than a few Advil for me, but I'm on prescription anti-inflammatories so I can't take Advil. I did keep a bottle of hydrocodone from my last kidney stone, just in case.
