Here in Bay Village, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland, there was a high school student, 18, who was convicted of statutory rape and put on the sexual offenders registry for having sex with his 17 year old girlfriend. He was just over 18, and she was just under 18. I think that the difference in age was only 3 or 4 months, but he now has to register with the police where ever he goes, for the rest of his life.

Apparently, her dad found out and pressed charges against him.

That is one of those "that ain't right" situations, and (to stay on topic) perhaps it's good that young Master Bobo will not have to face such charges since these two are very close in age. Beyond statements of fact about their "activities", I don't think family members are fair play until they step on the political battlefield. OTOH, going forward - anything Bobo ever says about parenting can be scrutinized in depth with the light of this situation coloring the analysis.

Bobo may be thrilled about being a grandmother, but I wonder how the new mom's mom feels about it, especially when she first found out.

Sure, she may be a trashy as the Bobo clan but, then again, she may have the normal reaction a mother has when she finds out her 16 year old is pregnant. Hopefully she was supportive but that doesn't mean she was happy about it.

Are you sure on that? The age of consent in Ohio is 16.

My best friend in high school dated a man 20 years her senior. She had entered a writing contest and won; he was one of the judges.

Her dad was a Naval Commander, 20 years older than her mother. Lee, the boyfriend, asked permission before the first date. They all hit it off famously. Lee and Jeanne dated for about a year before her dad retired and moved the family to Las Vegas.

Lee was COOL!! I didn’t think it was creepy then because I knew them both. It all depends on the parties involved.
