Arguably the funniest man working in the English (mostly) language, Billy Connolly did a biography mini-series back in 2018. It is incredibly funny, moving, informative, philosophical, scatological, irreverent, and did I say funny and philosophical?

The three episodes have been showing on SBS in Australia, I don't know where you might find it on a network near you.

This video is mostly from the closing summation in the last episode.

Goodnight, Oppy. On Amazon Prime only, it's an Amazon special about the Spirit and Opportunity Rovers. Excellent, I'm sure I will watch it again. The scientists that developed the rover, drove it, and managed the missions are all involved. One young woman in high school at the time who was invited to witness the landing in Mission Control center went on to work on the Opportunity team after graduating from college. How cool is that. Other members of the team were also inspired by the initial landing and the excitement generated by the fact that the rovers were designed to last for 90 days but went years beyond their expected life.

Just watched Glass Onion on Netflix. It was GREAT!!!!! It was suspenseful, hilarious, and well-enough plotted that I saw only one twist before it was revealed, ND when the whole whodunit mystery was explained, it all made sense.

I have a question about Avatar and Avatar 2. I can't go see A2 in the theater obviously, so I can't see if it's answered there. Im putting this in a spoiler box since i me tion stuff pertinant to A2.

In the first movie, the main guy was a soldier who'd been disabled and was put into a machine that stuck his mind into the an avatar body so he could interact with the blue natives on Pandora. IIRC, at the end of A1, the military left the area and would presumably have shut the program he was part of down. Yet in the new movie, he's *still* on Pandora, and some of his actions might be considered questionable to the military. So, my question is, how did he get to keep his avatar body? Did they work out some kind of magical merge so he doesn't need the machine hook-up any more? If not, why didn't the government or military unhook him when the program ended or when he started doing what they consider questionable things? And why did the government make the avatar bodies capable of reproduction? (There are a bunch of other questions that go with that but imma gonna leave them out to avoid the squickiness factor...) Anyone know?

He could either be in his real body (and in a wheelchair) or he could be in his "avatar," the ten foot tall blue dude. (Where did they get a spare blue dude body? )

Anyway, he was in the avatar body at the end of the first movie, and his real body was killed somehow, but the very last scene of the first movie was him opening his eyes in the avatar body. So we knew the soldier in the wheelchair was gone forever, and that he was still alive (and now leader of the ten foot tall blue people).

The minute I saw his eyes open at the end of the first one, I knew there was a sequel coming.

Also, that gave the first movie a "happy ending" because of the love interest being able to continue. He was still alive!

Edit: 'Course, it was Eywa (the goddess of the planet) who brought him to life in the avatar body, because he had wrecked the humans who were trashing the joint. So there was magic involved.

Satanic magic, probably. Well? It wasn't Jesus, I know that!

Actually, that last scene is the only part I remember much. The 3D effects were by far the best I've ever seen.
