Seems like the F-16 has been doing rather well with only one engine. It was so awful that it has been in production for decades, having some 4,000+ made.

So now he's an aerospace engineer as well? I'm surprised he paid enough attention to military stuff during his tenure to know that the F-35 has one engine.

Too, also, I'm struggling to figure out how he gave Presidential advice like this to Lockheed about engine architecture when the design decision for a single large engine was made no later than 1997 and now probably in 1993 or 1994.

I am aware of the operational reliability statistics for the F-35 and can assure you that Trump has absolutely no factual basis for bashing the airplane or engine reliability. Not that this surprises anyone here.

I won't comment on the recent incident.

Just to note that that specimen kept on flying with its single engine, after the pilot ejected. The malfunction was not engine related. I understand on this plane the clandestine nature dictates that the plane gets as far as possible away from the pilot. Do not make it too easy for the "bad guys" to retrieve the leftovers. I understand that when the pilot ejects the computer memories get cleared. Also Too.

+200K jobs were offshored during the Trump administration. Auto workers should remember the fate of the union workers at the Carrier plant in Indianapolis. The company leaders kept the plant open while it was a political pawn. But, once the spotlight dimmed, they started the layoffs all over again.
