My Acyl was polydactyl. It was so cute, she looked like she was wearing mittens. :D

Look what turned up in the workshop

Such a sweetie, it doesn't have any burs, briers or mats in it's fur. We live in a very rural area and we do have a neighbor text thread for fox warnings and such. I sent out a text to see if it's one of theirs but no one knows it. I did feed the poor little thing but we left the workshop door partly opened for it to go on it's way so we'll see what happens...

IMHO "Whiskers" is a good name for a lost solid black kitty that has 2 white whiskers on the right side of it's face.

If you’re naming the kitty, it’s over. Welcome to your Daisy home, Whiskers!! 😻

The poor sweet thing is welcome to stay that's what it wants, if it decides to move on it will go with a good neck scratch and a full tummy. Not that I'm a sucker for stray critters or anything like that.... :lovestruck:

Then again I think Whiskers might like to stay. We have a little screen porch off the library we mostly use to store firewood in winter and it has a kitty door so cats can come and go as they please but the dogs can't get in. Whiskers is out there for now which is much more comfy than my Mister's sawdust filled workshop, and I have the kitty door propped open so he/she can come & go as it likes. I still don't know the cats gender so my Mister said we should just refer to it as "they"

We are fostering (I fully expect a foster fail with this one) the tiniest, fluffiest kitten ever. She follows us from room to room, sleeps between us and plays with our 40 lb GSP incessantly. A local vet found her in the Lowe's parking lot and rescued her, then asked for adopters. My girlfriend talked me into fostering her so here we are.

We have a raccoon?possum? something that lives under the house that I hear scratching periodically, but if I smack on the bathroom wall it stops. I heard it this morning and went to smack the wall, but what I was hearing was the poor kitten scrambling to get out of the toilet! She rescued herself before I could catch my breath from laughing and took off down the hall leaving little wet kitty prints as she went. Normally, I would blame the dog for pushing her in but he's outside.

Ok. So yesterday, my wife and I were planning to go do a quick bitof thrifting, then go by the Polish deli to pick up some dinner and stop at our local farmsrand. They have picklecukes and I have family "pre-orders" already forme bread & butter slices. As we were getting organized, she called to me to look out on our back patio. On one of our sliding class doors, the screen door had popped out of the track and I hsd just left it leaning against the house because we don't use that door and I needed to adjust the sliders.

There was a cat sitting in the space between the door and the glass.

He was small and skinny and looked a little distressed.

We watched him for a while and couldn't figure out if he was a lost pet or a stray. One of my neighbors has a cat and I know she had left the country for a couple weeks.

So we decided to see if we could catch him and see if we could figure out where he belonged.

I put on a pair of heavy gloves and we went out to try to catch him.

The poor thing was very docile. I bundled him up in a towel and we put him in a basket. It wasn't the neighbors cat, we checked with her family that was still in town. So we went the the local vet to see if we was chipped.

No chip.

The vet tech said they only took pets for adoption from the police department and that not all the animals the PD collected made itbtonthem. Some were euthanized. The wife and i were like 😱

By this time he was snugged up, sleeping.

We thought about keeping him ourselves, but my dog Auggie doesn't "get" cats. He thinks they are just funny looking dogs and wants to play with them like a puppy. (We checked, and Auggie was excited, but the cat was having none of it.)

My Mother in law wanted a cat the replace her last one which passed away a few years ago.

So "hey Nana, we're bringing over pickles!"

We have a Pickle too and she just had some kind of spasm. She was sitting in the armchair and she suddenly freaked the fuck out and shot straight up in the air and when she hit the floor she was trembling and growling seriously afraid of something I couldn’t see. She’s still sitting over there with her hackles up. Very strange!

No, I can't say I ever remember having any tremors here. We do have the occasional low flying helicopter pass by but none so far today.
