The Genealogy

Some years ago, we were doing an Evening Prayer (i.e. the Episcopal daily office) before choir rehearsal. It was a laid back affair so we would select a reader right before the spot. Once, the appointed reading was the beginning of Matthew. The reader did the best he could attempting to read all those names without any prep time. I felt bad for him.
