In a rare bit of good legal news for Donald Trump, the Westchester County district attorney's office has ended a criminal investigation into the Trump Organization without bringing any charges, a person familiar with the investigation told Insider.

District Attorney Mimi Rocah closed the investigation earlier in June, the person said.

Elliott Jacobson, a special prosecutor hired by Rocah, departed the office in late 2022. He found that the evidence collected in the investigation couldn't support criminal charges, regarded conduct outside the statute of limitations, or overlapped with investigations underway by other law enforcement officials, according to the source, whose identity is known to Insider but who was not authorized to speak on the record.

Much of the material came under the jurisdiction of the New York attorney general's office. The district attorney's office can pursue only criminal cases, while the attorney general's office has the power to bring civil lawsuits.

Donald Trump’s indictment is not only an extension of the “biggest witch hunt of all time”, but mutants are involved too – that is according to the former president’s latest bizarre rant on Truth Social.

In a characteristically rambling post on the social meda site on Wednesday, Mr Trump said that the indictment “hoax” was the fault of misfits, marxists and communists – as well as “mutants”.

“REALLY BIG FUNDRAISING, EVEN GREATER POLLS, SINCE THE RADICAL LEFT INDICTMENT HOAX WAS INITIATED BY THE MISFITS, MUTANTS, MARXISTS, & COMMUNISTS! THANK YOU,” he typed in his now trademark all-caps style.

Mr Trump failed to explain what he meant by mutants – or why they were to blame.

Fabricated Trump Truth Social post about Walt Nauta circulates after court appearance

CLAIM: A screenshot shows a Truth Social post from former President Donald Trump saying his personal aide and alleged co-conspirator Walt Nauta was the one who packed up his “personal papers” when he left the White House.

AP’S ASSESSMENT: False. The image is fabricated and Trump never posted such a statement on Truth Social.

THE FACTS: A day after Trump pleaded not guilty to dozens of felony counts accusing him of hoarding classified documents, many social media users shared the bogus Truth Social post as real, suggesting it showed the former president was pointing the finger at Nauta for any classified documents that made their way into his possession.

Nauta, Trump’s valet before joining him as personal aide in Mar-a-Lago, was indicted last week on charges that he moved boxes of documents at Trump’s direction and then misled the FBI about it. Nauta did not enter a plea Tuesday because he did not have a local lawyer with him.

The post circulating on social media shows Trump’s Truth Social profile. “Many people are saying the theft of Nuclear and Military Secrets is a very serious crime,” it begins.The post goes on to say that Trump asked his “LOYAL aide Walt Nauta” to pack personal documents before leaving the White House and is confident Nauta didn’t “place any Nuclear Secrets” inside because he knew that would get the former president in “trouble.”

“So let’s just see what Judge Cannon says. Good Luck, Walt! We are behind you all the way!” it ends.

“Trump just threw Nauta under the bus,” one widely shared tweet sharing the supposed screenshot reads in part.

Former President Donald Trump’s attorney Jim Trusty, who withdrew from representing Trump in a pair of federal criminal probes last week, pulled out of yet another Trump legal matter Friday, citing “irreconcilable differences” with the former president.

In a filing with the U.S. District Court of Southern Florida, Trusty indicated his intention to withdraw from Trump’s pending defamation lawsuit against CNN. The longshot lawsuit, which Trump filed last October, accuses the network of maligning him as a “‘racist,’ ‘Russian lackey,’ ‘insurrectionist,’ and ultimately ‘Hitler.’”

Yeah well he found out when he read the indictment that Trump had been lying to him the entire time he represented him. But he can’t say that. So it’s “irreconcilable differences.”

It reminds me of the amusing incident from June 2021, when Lindell filed a RICO/LOL (but I repeat myself) suit against Dominion Voting Systems. The lawyer who signed the complaint was one Alec Beck, a labor/employment law specialist, who was a partner in the Minneapolis office of Barnes & Thornburg, a large national firm. He signed the complaint in his capacity as a B&T partner.

Within 24 hours of the complaint's filing, B&T had fired Beck and withdrawn as counsel for Lindell.

A Pennsylvania Republican lawmakers lawsuit against a local newspaper just backfired spectacularly, exposing DAMNING 2020 election emails between top state officials and the Trump administration.

State Senator Dan Laughlins defamation lawsuit against "The Erie Reader" opened him up to discovery, and ended up revealing a series of emails pertaining to Trump's pressure campaign on Pennsylvania Republicans to illegally overthrow the election in 2020.

High level communications between far-right gubernatorial candidate Doug Mastriano, and member of Trump legal team Christina Cobb, is part of the information that's been released.

In those emails, Mastriano expressed his concern that Trump's proposal to overturn the election was "illegal." The emails also detail how Trump PERSONALLY called Mastriano and pressured him to overturn the election, and even furnished false documents about Dominion Voting Systems "rigging the election against Biden" in an effort to do so.

“We’re not saying a word on this crap,” Laughlin said in an email after he got word of the plan, worried about his own parties attempt to unlawfully overturn the election.

It seems like the emails implicate Trump in yet another crime. Unreal.
