Yesterday evening did not go as planned.Volkonski wrote: ↑Fri May 07, 2021 4:26 pm Since all 6 of us are immunized our younger daughter and her husband will be coming up for the Mothers Day weekend. Also bringing their cat and rats.
Today is our older daughter's birthday. Going out to a sushi restaurant to celebrate. This will be my first meal in a restaurant since early March 2020. Sure hope the vaccines are effective.
I was studying the online menu for our restaurant of choice when I realized it was after 6 PM. Went to find Mrs. V. who was sleeping in the recliner in our bedroom. Gently waking her she sent me to find out what our daughter and SIL planned for dinner timing with a suggestion that maybe takeout would be a good option.
I crossed the house to their living room to find our daughter half asleep on the couch snuggling some pillows. She readily agreed to takeout and got SIL to agree. So everyone assembled in my office to look at the online menu and order.
It was a considerable feast-
Yellowtail roll
Rainbow roll
Alaska roll
Oshinko roll
Shrimp tempura appetizer
Sashimi roll
Gyoza
California roll
Cucumber roll
Avocado roll
Asparagus roll
Two vegetable tempura appetizers
Dragon roll
Spider roll
Eastern roll
I phoned the order in. No problem with items that had menu numbers but the oshinko roll did not which required some spelling efforts between myself and the young lady whose first language was not English.
SIL and I went and picked it up. At the end of the meal only 4 pieces of what our daughter ordered were uneaten which she saved for today.
Then we watched "Radioactive" on Amazon Prime which I recommend.
"Radioactive" doesn't show much of the story of Madame Curie's younger daughter Eve (who didn't become a Nobel Prize winning physicist like everyone else in her family) but what a life she had-
