A short update about princess foofypants today because there is just too much detail from yesterday to post.
Granted, it's only been a few days since the princess became ill, but yesterday was a very hard day. I spent about an hour on the phone with the doctor being brought up-to-date on exactly what's going on, how she's doing overall, and what the current plans are for her continued treatment. There was very little positive news.
Suffice to say at this time, the princess is not doing well and very little is heading in a positive direction for her recovery.

Just got off the phone with the doc. Everything during the day is pretty much the same as it was this morning. O2 sat still in mid 90s, oxygen level on vent still at 70%. They did remove another of the meds which was supporting her blood pressure, so she's down to only 1 now and her BP is still in the 127/56 range, which is good. Heart rate still normal.
Infection number is about the same. Her MELD score went up.
while it doesn't really matter anymore when it reaches 40, hers rose to 49. Doesn't change the mortality rate. That's still 90-days is over 66%.
Bottom line, her liver is just not working much still. Doc is certainly worried about her. She did say with the other things that have been positive in the last about 36 hours, that there sometimes is a lag before the liver begins working again. It's just a wait and see.
Still no word whether I can visit or not. I will receive an email at some point with a yes or no.
