Trump's supporters won't even see that contradiction. When have they ever recognized any of his faults, or even that he had any.

To them, those little peccadillos are just boys being boys, not real crimes. But KH not having given birth to any children? That's little short of treason!

I'm going to make an attempt to refer to her primarily by her last name. Like I do with Trump, when I'm using his name. I rarely call him simply Donald. He's either some epithet like the quadfectee or Prisoner #P01135809, or he's Trump. So I should call her simply Harris.

She and I aren't really on a first-name basis quite yet. I don't even have 100% proof she reads Fogbow every day of her life (but I know she does ;) ).

Bonus for lawsuits claiming she's a "14th Amendment" or "19th Amendment" citizen, which isn't the same as "natural born".
So when Harris ran for veep in 2020, there were FOUR (4) lawsuits (IIRC) that challenged her eligibility. And none was filed by a lawyer. (Although a lawyer did argue on appeal for one [sorta].) Not even John she's-not-even-a-citizen! Eastman could be bothered.

The most famous (to us) birther that litigated was Roberty Laity, who filed a quo warranto lawsuit in D.D.C. In affirming his dismissal, the D.C. Cir. said his appeal was frivolous, and that it would sanction him if he did it again.

So I do expect a non-zero number of eligibility lawsuits. Maybe even one filed by a lawyer. But Laity isn't going back to D.C. :fingerwag:

It depends on who "they" are.

People wanting to be taken seriously won't do that. But many, many unserious people already have and will continue to lie about her sexual history.

So good to see the Democrats come together behind Harris. Donated to Harris this morning. Actually quite surprised at how relieved I am that Biden stepped down in favor of Harris. I thought Biden was a great president, but we would have been besieged by the Biden is too old storyline from now until the election. Go Harris!

Joe Biden kicked Donald Trump's ass again.

In one announcement he wiped all talk of the Republican Convention, JD Vance, and Trump almost off the map. It's all about Kamala, who will she pick, look at how much money she raised in 24 hours - absolute blockbusting records - Democrats are energized, and all that jazz. As long as this was going to happen, the timing was perfect to wipe any momentum from the RNC right off the fucking front pages.

More good news:
The presidential campaign for Kamala Harris doesn't appear short on enthusiasm. The campaign told Scripps News on Monday that it has seen a surge in sign-ups for volunteers across battleground states.

It states that more than 28,000 people have signed up to volunteer for the campaign after President Joe Biden endorsed Harris on Sunday. That's more than 100 times the amount of sign-ups the campaign says it sees on an average day.

The enthusiasm balloon seems to be filling...look at that number of people donating for the first time (I think they mean to the campaign, not first time ever donors, but I'm not clear on that)

Harris now has the support of enough delegates to secure the nomination.

Yeah sloppy reporting. The Harris campaign just started today in earnest. Don't understand what they are saying.

That's awesome! I heard Lawrence O'Donnell just announced the NY Times is reporting that. One day!

Tonight's MSNBC coverage was uplifting. Big and hard work ahead, but there's a feeling of generational change that the impeached felon can't match. Tim Alberta's follow-up about the impeached felon's nightmare come true: https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/ar ... ut/679183/

And the fundraising.

Another beautiful sign of enthusiasm:

After Biden’s exit, Zoom led by Black women mobilized 44,000 for Harris
More than 44,000 people logged onto a Zoom call to support Harris and raised more than $1.5 million for her campaign in three hours, according to Win With Black Women founder Jotaka Eaddy.
:snippity:
Eaddy organized the Zoom call the same way in which she has hosted most Sunday night calls for Win With Black Women since August 2020. The organization says it aims to elect Black women nationwide and speaks out against racism and sexism. At the height of the 2020 election, she said the most attendees she had on one Zoom call was 1,500 people. Eaddy was expecting a few hundred last night.

You are so right. A week day is a lifetime in polly ticks. What a difference a day makes, 24 little hours. And the difference is you. 🎵

It amuses me – in a good way, I stress! – to see much Go Kamala!! joy here.

Surely my memory is tricking me with recollections of "the sky will fall on our heads if Biden is forced out" and "Biden dropping out would gift the presidency to Trump and the Magats"?

No, surely you were all optimistic a week ago? Yes? No? Oh.

I don't like the disrespect I see for Biden (not here, except for the "toast" name) and the innuendo that he has dementia without the copious amounts of demonstration the opponent has shown. Harris is the natural choice.
