I’ve seen him on FoxNews several times as a talking head. I think he has a podcast as well.

His mom apparently "died" on 9/11, and died again in 2016.

Santos' Wikipedia page is glorious. Not only a recap of the dude's lies about his past, but a blow-by-blow account of each day's revelations.

My questions for today:

On what date was he born?

Where was he born?

Was his marriage to Ms. Uadla Santos Vieira Santos for the purposes of getting her US citizenship?

What were the names of the four people who died at Pulse he now claims were going to come to work for him (any minute now)?

Which is more greedy, 1) burying your ex-wife on your golf course or 2) setting up a Go Fund Me for yourself using your mother's death as the reason?

NEW: We uncovered many more falsehoods from George Santos — including giving a fake Jewish name he appeared to do GoFundMes under, claims he was removed from a fancy NYC private school, and claims he repped Goldman Sachs at a finance conference (and more).

Question: once this guy steps down, who gets his seat? The state governor to designate a successor for the remainder of his term? A re-election?

How Vacancies in the US Congress are Filled
What Happens When Congress Members Leave Mid-Term?

Key Takeaways: Vacancies in Congress
Vacancies in the U.S. Congress occur when a senator or representative dies, resigns, retires, is expelled, or is elected to another office before the end of their regular term.

Most vacancies in the Senate can be filled immediately through an appointment made by the governor to the former senator’s state.

Vacancies in the House can take as long as six months to fill, because representatives can only be replaced through a special election.
Vacancies in the House of Representatives typically take far longer to fill. The Constitution requires that member of the House be replaced only by an election held in the congressional district of the former representative.

"When vacancies happen in the Representation from any State, the Executive Authority thereof shall issue Writs of Election to fill such Vacancies." -- Article I, Section 2, Clause 4 of the U.S. Constitution
"Mickey Mouse and I grew up together." - Ruthie Tompson, Disney animation checker and scene planner and one of the first women to become a member of the International Photographers Union in 1952.

H/T!

So it is likely that the Republicans will miss a vote to start with, with the potential of losing the seat on reelection.

Hasn't Santos insisted that he will fulfill his term in the House? I seriously doubt that the R's would vote to deny him his seat, so talk of who will replace him or if the seat might go to a Democrat, seem to me to be premature or wishful thinking.

I agree. The only way he may leave if is if he's found guilty of money shenanigans.

Ok, I get that, maybe 50-60 years ago, maybe not that long, you could pull this shit off if you were clever, but this guy is obviously not clever, and it's not 50-60 years ago. WTF thought this would work. (and, yes, I agree that the Dems dropped the ball big-time, although it is my understanding that local media tried but were ignored.)

IMHO the Rep's failed too in letting a nutjob take over their cause.

For me as an outsider it's one of the strangest things in the US election procedures that anyone can come along and claim they stand for the values of a certain party and claim candidacy. In most other parts of the civilized world a candidate gets proposed by a party based on merits and experience in former political positions. Candidates have as such been vetted.
