Waiting to see how the Justice Dept responds to a request for change of venue by defense. And waiting to hear if Enrique Tarrio's defense addresses ruling that Tarrio must remain jailed until trial

Thanks for asking. Now that it's been a few years since Malheur, I think there has been a ... I dunno, maybe a split? Between the "Bundys and Their Elk" - which I believe is primarily a Western US, anti-government movement based on fantasies of seizing public lands, and the white supremacist movement, which is nationwide and not anything to do with the federal government owning a lot of land.

Yes, the Bundys have shown they are racist, too also. But the Proud Boys are based on racism, whereas racism had very little to do with Cliven trying to keep his cattle or Ham and Eggs seizing Malheur.

Having said that, the truth is some people (Proud Boys) are several different kinds of stupid and crazy, and they belong in various different categories of a forum devoted to following stupid and crazy people.

I shall consider a bit of reorganization, and then hopefully this thread will be correctly filed.

FWIW. IMHO. I like the more specific threads. Yes, they are insurrectionists, but more specifically, they are Proud Boys (or Oaf Keepers.) I suppose they could go in the Assault thread, but more specific is better so they go with their ilk in their specific brand of nonsense thread. Those insurrectionists that don't fit into a more specific category can live in the Assault thread.

Yes. I was just hoping we could have a break out for the J6/Proud Boy court stuff, so I can avoid getting my hand slapped if I keep posting about those matters in this thread

It's Foggy's playpen though. If it's a lot of work to move the court case stuff to a thread in the insurrection forum, we can start fresh and move forward?

It's in "Bundys and their elk". Are the Proud Boys part of the Bundy poots? No, so this thread is in the wrong place. I'm working on where to move it.

They could have their own topic, akin to the Bundys, in the "Sovereign Citizens and Other Fringe Craziness" forum, i.e., "Board index > Sovereign Citizens and Other Fringe Craziness > Proud Boys."

With the quibble that the Proud Boys sadly no longer are "fringe."

Ditto that they deserve their own topic, as they continue to do things besides insurrecting.

Yeah, just for completeness, as they say, I did move this thread into the new "White Supremacists and Neo-Fascists" subforum, and just in time apparently, because it turns out that there may actually have been some coordination between the Proud Boys and the White House, as disgusting and evil as that is. The President of the United States of America, conspiring with a far-right, neo-Fascist group to overthrow a legitimate election held under our Constitution. I still have trouble getting my mind around how huge a crime it was, and how close it came to success.

Anyway, stand back and stand by, I mean, more will be revealed ...

Rep. Dan Crenshaw and his staff were violently confronted at the Republican Party of Texas convention a short time ago, when far-right social media activist Alex Stein and others whom witnesses described as Proud Boys began shouting “eyepatch McCain” at him – an attempted insult coined by Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson.

A witness to the incident tells Mediaite that in addition to Stein and others being escorted out of the building, some arrests were made at the scene.

“They got physical with multiple people, including hitting them with cameras,” a witness at the scene said. “His campaign manager was assaulted by being pushed aggressively into a pillar.”

You can see that part in the video above, which was shared by Stein and his blog.

In a photo shared with Mediaite, some of the ejected persons are seen outside the building wearing Proud Boys gear.
