I'm so grateful to the county Health Department for having nurses who can come to the home to give vaccines and boosters. I'm sure most health departments do likewise, but even if it's common for them, it's still special to me, giving me the peace of mind knowing I'm as protected as I can be from whatever my husband and/or caretaker might drag in with them.

Today I got my 2nd booster. My initial vaccine was J&J, my first booster was Moderna, and today I completed the trifecta with a booster from Pfizer.

Mrs. RC and I got our 2nd Moderna boosters today. It was very convenient at our local Publix. Hopped in the golf cart - in and out in 10 minutes. No waiting required after now.

Woo-hoo! I got my 2nd booster - they've all been Moderna - early this afternoon at CVS. I had scheduled online, so it was simple as could be to get in there, check in, get the vaccine, and leave. It's now about 3 hours later and, as with my other shots, no side effects. I haven't touched my arm to see if it's tender, but that's the worst I've had with one of my previous shots. No big deal.

So now I'm ready for the upcoming bridal shower, high school graduation, birthday party, and two weddings in the next 3 months, some up here and some down in Iowa.

For the edification of others with the J&J one-shot original vaccine: I went in last Friday to get my second booster, and they told me a second booster for J&J using Moderna was not yet approved, so I'd have to wait. No estimate on when it would be approved. They didn't offer me a different option.

I could have gotten a booster at CVS a few weeks ago, but couldn't do it then and wanted the Moderna this time. That location didn't have the Moderna, but they told me the location where I could get it.

How odd. When I called my Health Department back in November (or thereabouts) about getting a booster, I told them I'd had J&J single shot and would like to get the Moderna booster. This was right about the time the use of the combination was being discussed in the news and I'm pretty sure I remember reading that it had been approved, otherwise I wouldn't have asked for it. They said that was no problem, and that's what they brought for me when they came to give me my shot.

A couple weeks ago I called about getting the 2nd booster. I told them what I'd had, and they said all they had right now was Pfizer, but that there'd be no problem giving me that, so that's what I got. There weren't any issue of anything not being approved yet.

Were you talking to your Health Department or to a retail drugstore? I'm just wondering if it was a drugstore, if maybe they didn't have up-to-date info. Or maybe its just a difference between states, though I haven't heard of that being an issue...

I hope you can get something worked out soon!

Just got my second booster. I'm glad as I'm going to a couple of live music shows in mid-May, my first since before Covid.

Hopefully I won't feel too bad tomorrow, but I'm perfectly fine with a day in the recliner watching TV.

Hubby gt his second booster yesterday. As with his other three, nothing more than a sore arm. I have to figure when to fit mine in. Family problems I need to be on the ball for.

Finally got my first booster today! After catching Covid in November, my PCP said to wait until about now. My first two shots were Pfizer; booster is Moderna. So far, nothing but a mild headache. That might be dehydration.

I get all my meds at Costco, have for a decade. Today when I went to pick mine up there was virtually no one in the store  (best time to go to my Costco is between 3:30-4:30, but not for gas. Forget gas, it’s a 30 minute line any time of day) so I asked for the booster. Bob, the supervising pharmacist, gave it to me. I had to wait 10 minutes to make sure I wasn’t dizzy so we chatted about anti-vaxxers. He admitted he doesn’t understand them at all (he’s an older Chinese gentleman). Carefully, so as not to offend me, he said he thought they were probably not well enough educated and maybe if they were they would get the shots. I had to tell him no, Bob, it’s not primarily about their education levels. It’s mostly about you’re not the boss of me, OMG tracking devices!, and did you know the vaccines are changing our DNA?

He was suitably aghast. As was I that he hadn’t heard any of this.

Second Moderna booster following J&J primary in March '21 and a first Moderna booster in October on Friday. No side effects other than extremely mild swelling at the injection site. It appears that the steamrolling effect of the first Moderna booster was likely due to the Shingles vaccine, which I got at the same time.

Mine is quite wonky as it is. Just not in the right way. But hey, if you want an immune system that hands out histamine cascades like a manic Oprah, I'm your guy.

Hubby and I have had all of the shots available from Moderna for him and Pfizer for me. Last week we vacationed in Michigan as part of a Senior Citizens bus tour. We wore masks on the bus.

Hubby got Covid. His seems mild. He is on Paxlovid. I did not get the disease.

My concern for him is the long haul Covid. We have a 45 year old friend who got a fairly mild case of Covid, but is struggling with blood clots in his legs as a result. He is on blood thinners and is extremely fatigued. Basically he is a hemophiliac until he stops the meds.

Hubby is much better today. His pulse rate is lower and his oxygen rate is higher. He is independent about caring for himself when he is ill.

Thanks to all for your concern. :bighug:

I got my second booster today. So far, just a bit of a sore arm starting. My first two were Moderna; my second, by choice, was Pfizer. I shopped for where I could get Moderna for this one. Turns out, at least here, CVS stores carry either the Moderna or the Pfizer, so it was easy to go online and choose a location with the Moderna.

My situation isn't on the list: I had two Astra-Zeneca shots and have now had 2 Moderna boosters. I voted on the top line, even though it isn't accurate.

I had the second Moderna today. The needle prick itself was 'worse' than all 3 of the previous one's combined, but that is just the skill of the injector person (but it was the same as the number 3). I barely felt number 1, I didn't feel number 2 at all (its possible she didn't actually do anything as far as I am concerned), number 3 was a little prick, this last, number 4 actually hurt a little.

I got the chills for a few hours after shot number 1. I have had no reaction at all to any of the others, though its only been two hours since number 4.

Tuesday I get a flu shot and a shingles shot.

Maybe I should get a Monkey Pox vax as well, but I think that's just a small pox vax, and I'm not sure if GP's carry that in shop as a matter of course. There's a Travel Doctor specialist I've used in the past when I have gone overseas, I'll see what the GP recommends.

I should be quoting from the Book of the Excovidians but despite my #2 vote I must refer to this sacred Book which I have not in my possession. US English (Non Stone/Jones) translation preferable.
