As I have assplained y'all, I have some N95 masks that I found in my workshop at the beginning of the pandemic, and when Omicron came along I started wearing one and recommended to ol' Wifehorn and the boys that they wear the others. With some resistance actually, ol' Wifehorn didn't believe the N95 was a better solution despite my best efforts.
Today ol' Wifehorn had a doctor's appointment, and she put on an N95 before walking in.
So get this: They actually told her, "Please wear this surgical mask instead. The N95 is better at protecting
you, but the surgical mask is better at protecting
us."
Which meant: 1) That I was entirely correct, and now the doctor's office has confirmed it: N95 masks are better at protecting
you, and 2) the doctor's office employees, if there's a choice between you getting sick and them getting sick, would much prefer that you get sick, not them. They won't be terribly upset if you get sick.
In other news, we've got a guy we're helping who needs to actually go to a Social Security office to straighten out his mess. In order to go to the SS office, you need to have an appointment. In order to schedule an appointment, you have to use the phone. They don't answer the phone. You can stay on hold for four hours, they are NOT going to answer that phone.
It's a
. I may go get the guy, take him to the SS office with no appointment, and encourage them to schedule an appointment for the gentleman.
