NY21 - Stefanik - My Despicable Congresswoman
Re: NY21 - Stefanik - My Despicable Congresswoman
CF my above post about Stefanik lying to the House Clerk about the need for a proxy vote because health crisis (she never uses the word COVID, ever) because she had a fundraiser in Mara-fucking-lago to attend:

Re: NY21 - Stefanik - My Despicable Congresswoman
Is Katko anywhere near you? Any chance that a Dem could take his district?
Re: NY21 - Stefanik - My Despicable Congresswoman
No, not close--but look how big the districts are in Upstate NY.
Katko is District 24. Stefanik is Dist. 21 (yes, it's that big).
I don't know the make up of the Syracuse area, where Katko is. I do know that all of NY north of Albany with the exception of Saratoga Cty (see how Dist. 20 has a bump at the top to include Saratoga?), has traditionally voted R. Historically moderate R's, but in recent years, they've swung pretty far right. I could speculate that the odd shape means that they've stuck all the R's into Dist 24 to make sure that the surrounding districts stayed blue.
And we will lose on district thanks to the pandemic-affected census. There's a lot of talk about gerrymandering Stefanik out--but I don't see that as possible. I wonder if they'll play around with Dist. 24? We'll know soon.

Special report: How Stefanik won power and support for spreading Trump's "Big Lie"
BY Zach Hirsch (Reporter)
Jan 25, 2022 —
The false claim that the 2020 presidential election was fraudulent or “stolen” lives on.
Former president Donald Trump continues to spread what's become known as the "Big Lie" — because it’s a baseless myth — to this day.
North Country Congresswoman Elise Stefanik continues to support Trump, validate his conspiracy theories, and cast doubt over America's electoral process — a political move that helped catapult her to national prominence and won her a top leadership position in her party.
We’ve been working to document and fact-check Stefanik’s statements about voting and elections, many of which have proved to be misleading or untrue.
Re: NY21 - Stefanik - My Despicable Congresswoman
I've mentioned Alex DeGrasse, who is Stefanik's right-hand Roger-Stone wannabe. He's got a quote in the local paper today, in an article about why Stefanik voted against two bipartisan veteran's bills this week. DeGrasse is pumping the "choice" explanation for not giving a shit about actual people. Of course the actual reason is that Stefanik has gone full-on obstructionist.

Christ. So I'm in that pink rectangle between NY20 (Saratoga area, which got bigger) and Vermont. Right about where the G of Green Mountains is. Pfff. So kiss my ass all my NY friends who said they would gerrymander Stefanik's seat away.
Thanks, raison Been waiting for this.

Does her district include Schuylerville?

FWIW, 538 believes the new map will survive legislative and judicial muster.
It praises the map, noting the net increase of seats and fortifications against a possible red wave.

I called Stefanik's office today. Told them I had just read her statement. Told them that politicizing the invasion of a peaceful sovereign country where millions of people were being displaced and untold numbers could die, was as despicable as it gets. Told them she was a disgrace to the country that sheltered her.

Nothing against chocolate milk (big fan), but if you are looking for an Earth 2 textbook example of how to Play To The Base to continue your epic grift, pretty sure this is it.
Oh, and also: Squirrel!

I ate public school lunches for 12 years back in the day. The only beverage on offer was whole milk in 1/2 pint glass bottles. It wasn't even homogenized.
So today's kids have to have fancy schmancy chocolate milk? They will end up a generation of wimps. Wimps with diabetes from all that extra sugar.

Some parents might not like it either. Aren’t we parents the ones who should get to say what our kids eat or don’t eat?
