This would be purely symbolic and a badge of honor for the Russia-backed separatist leaders and commanders sanctioned. None of them to my knowledge travel outside Donetsk and Luhansk occupied areas and Russia. Nor do they have assets abroad.

Canada should be paying attention to this situation and taking notes, in case the wrong people win the next elections in the US and decide they want the US to have all of the Great Lakes or something.

It was recently noted that all these sanctions by the US will only be seen as puffing hot air. No Ukranian personality is likely to have economic interests in the sphere of the US, nor will be traveling, and when, again outside of the influence of the US.

Britain Says Russia Seeking to Replace Ukraine Government
The U.S. has mounted an aggressive campaign in recent months to unify its European allies against a new Russian invasion of Ukraine

https://www.nbcdfw.com/news/politics/br ... t_DFWBrand
The British government on Saturday accused Russia of seeking to replace Ukraine’s government with a pro-Moscow administration, and said former Ukrainian lawmaker Yevheniy Murayev is being considered as a potential candidate.

Murayev is head of the small pro-Russian party Nashi, which currently has no seats in Ukraine’s parliament.

Britain’s Foreign Office named several other Ukrainian politicians it said had links with Russian intelligence services.

It’s unclear what means Britain believes Russia might use to install a friendly government in Kyiv.

US won't be in a position to evacuate Americans in the event of a Russian invasion. Two Sr. State Department officials say that's why the US is telling Americans to leave now or register with the @USEmbassyKyiv if you plan to stay. Non-emergency US staff are authorized to depart

President Biden is considering whether to send “several thousand” U.S. troops to Eastern NATO nations, like Latvia and Lithuania, who share borders with Russia.

That number of troops could increase tenfold if Russia conducts a full-blown invasion of Ukraine.
