after hiring a lawyer who served as general counsel to a parking garage company to represent him in his legal battle with New York Attorney General Letitia James.

It's very possible he has no choice. He might simply have run out of lawyers who will represent him. Either because they wont do as he instructs them because what he wants is crazy and illegal, or becasue his habit of not paying his people has caused them to walk out and word has gotten out about it. Or maybe there's another reason, that he is simply self destructing and unhinged, no-one competent wants to be caught in the explosion that's happening.

I mean, you know the old adage, right? "Any lawyer who represents Donald Trump has a fool for a client, and their client has a fool for a lawyer."
But the sunshine aye shall light the sky,
As round and round we run;
And the truth shall ever come uppermost,
And justice shall be done.

https://www.cnn.com/2022/01/21/politics ... index.html
(CNN)The Justice Department is seeking to block, for now, a subpoena to depose former President Donald Trump in a lawsuit brought by former FBI agent Peter Strzok.

The department argues in a court filling Friday that Strzok has not shown that Trump "possesses directly relevant information that cannot be obtained from other sources."

In summer 2017, former special counsel Robert Mueller removed Strzok from his team investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election after an internal investigation first revealed texts with former FBI lawyer Lisa Page, with whom Strzok had an extramarital relationship, that could be read as exhibiting political bias. The FBI fired Strzok in 2018.

Trump had publicly called for Strzok's firing, and the Justice Department said in its court filing that its stance could change if Strzok can prove that the former President's communications had an effect on the decision to fire him.

Beyond that, there are more photos and videos than just the one of her as a kid by the mating parrot statue. A lot more. How anyone could see those and still follow him escapes me.

CREW has sent a letter to Trump to "remind him that he will need to pay taxes on any money the Republican National Committee spends to cover his legal bills."

Any dollar the RNC spends on covering Trump, according to CREW, is taxable income for him under the law.

I wonder if he ever thought of that. I'm sure he thought he could figure a way around it if he did.

Even if he does declare it as income, and pays the tax on it, its still a good deal for him.

Let's say that the RNC pays $1M of his legal fees. The highest current federal tax rate is, I believe 25 percent. That means that, if he pays it (not at all a foregone conclusion), he only has to pay $250K, a 75 percent discount, rather than paying the full $1M to the lawyers.

Now, I realize that he has a habit of stiffing his lawyers, so there is no evidence that he intends to pay either the lawyers OR the IRS. He's more likely to pay the IRS, if he can't find a way of hiding the imputed income or of offsetting it with other tax dodges.

Trump doesn't pay taxes. He'll have "losses" to offset that.
