The Boulder subreddit has been discussing this area purportedly belonging to the cult. (Not quite in the "time to get the pitchforks, neighbors" sense, but close.) Evidently some people saw something suspicious on early video of the property after the fire started.

ETA: A lot of rural people still burn their trash. Their neighbors hope that they have enough sense not to do it on red flag warning days.

At least 13 people died in Philadelphia Wednesday morning in a fire that broke out in a three-story home that was converted into apartments, according to a law enforcement official.

Investigators have not yet gone inside the home, though the fire is under control, the law enforcement official said.

Investigators are still trying to determine the origin and cause of the fire, the law enforcement official said.

The source requested anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the ongoing investigation.

Philadelphia fire officials tweeted that they responded Wednesday morning to a fire surging from the second floor of a three-story row house.

About 200 members of the New York City Fire Department were on scene of the fire, which took place on the third floor of a 19-story residential apartment building. The fire has been "knocked down," the FDNY said.

The department began receiving calls -- including a number from residents in upper floors -- about the fire a little before 11 a.m.
At least 54 people were injured in the fire, officials said.

The department posted several images of the scene at 333 East 181st Street showing ladders extending into apartment windows as well as a number of broken windows.

At least 13 others have life-threatening injuries in Bronx hospitals, officials said.

Many of the injured victims were located on the upper floors, officials said, adding that they likely suffered from severe smoke inhalation, New York City Fire Department Commissioner Daniel Nigro said during a press conference Sunday afternoon.

An electric space heater is being blamed for sparking the horrific high-rise Bronx apartment fire that killed at least 19 people, including nine children, city officials confirmed Sunday evening.

The fire originated in a duplex on the second and third floors of the building but never extended past the unit and the hallway nearest the apartment, FDNY Commissioner Dan Nigro revealed. Smoke generated from the duplex blaze was able to filter out through an open door and spread throughout the 19-story structure, he explained.

Philadelphia Fire Started When Boy, 5, Ignited Christmas Tree
Investigators determined that a 5-year-old, who told the police he had been playing with a lighter, was the only person in the part of the apartment where the fire began.

The fire that broke out in a Philadelphia rowhouse last Wednesday, leaving 12 dead including nine children, was most likely caused when a 5-year-old boy ignited a Christmas tree with a lighter, city officials said on Tuesday.

The fire erupted before dawn, quickly engulfing the second story of a brick rowhouse in the city’s Fairmount neighborhood. The 5-year-old, one of only two people in the apartment who survived, told the police last week that he had been playing with the lighter, forming the earliest theory about the fire’s cause.

Investigators looked for other possible sources of the fire but found nothing that disproved the account given by the child, who was the only person in the part of the apartment where the blaze began, Adam K. Thiel, the Philadelphia fire commissioner, said in a news conference.

Oh man. I feel bad for that kid having to grow up knowing what he did. Of course, he should not have been left alone or allowed near a lighter, let alone both at the same time, but you know the weight of this is gonna affect him hard throughout his life.

Marcus Solis spoke with the security guard who was the only person on the site of a massive fire at a chemical plant in Passaic, New Jersey.

PASSAIC, New Jersey (WABC) -- Firefighters were able to keep the flames from a massive fire at an industrial complex in Passaic, New Jersey away from the main chemical plant.

The 11-alarm fire broke out around 8:15 p.m. Friday at the Majestic Industries warehouse on Passaic Street.

Passaic Mayor Hector Lora joined Eyewitness News live on air to provide an update on the massive chemical plant fire.

Saturday morning, after working through the night in freezing temperatures, fire crews were still working to douse the flames.

As of 7 a.m., the fire was not completely under control, but was contained, Mayor Hector Lora said.

The fire started in the Majestic industries warehouse, where the company manufactures gaming and hospitality furniture for casinos and bingo halls and spread to an adjoining building used by Qualco Inc. to produce chlorine pellets used to treat pools and spas.

Bastrop wildfire sparks state-wide response after over 250 families were evacuated
As of Tuesday night, about 640 acres had burned in the Rolling Pines Fire. Only 150 acres were scheduled in the prescribed burn.

More than 250 families in Bastrop have been evacuated from their homes, unsure when they'll be able to return or if they'll even have a home to return to.

The rolling pines fire started from a prescribed burn.

The fire started in Bastrop State Park as wind gusts of up to 20 mph spread the flames.

Bastrop County Judge Paul Pape - the county's top elected official - said in a news conference Tuesday night that about 640 acres have burned. About 150 acres were scheduled to be burned.

Now, Gov. Greg Abbott announced efforts to stop the fire are state-wide, including 75 firefighters from Texas A&M, a Texas military department helicopter, and now, the Cy-Fair Wildland Paramedic Unit.

The Rolling Pines fire's footprint remains at 783 acres in central Bastrop County, officials said in a 1 p.m. briefing Wednesday.

Firefighters do not think the fire poses a threat of jumping over the containment lines that crews have put in place around the fire.

A strong cold front could pose another challenge for firefighters working to contain the Rolling Pines fire that has burned about 780 acres in Bastrop county. High winds threaten to feed the fire before a round of wintry precipitation.



“Winds gusts of 35 to 40 mph are likely with wind chills falling into the teens and 20s on Thursday,” forecasters said.
