Music Free-for-all
Re: Music Free-for-all
Personal fav -- gotta play -- means much on many levels.
Re: Music Free-for-all
Okay, bringing it up a few decades... (I really like this song -- not because it's kinda kinky )

Re: Music Free-for-all
The BeeGees were probably the first group that I really loved. I discovered them shortly before Saturday Night Fever came out and saved up my allowance so I could buy all of their earlier albums.
Did anyone here watch the HBO Documentary about them that was on a few months ago? I found it fascinating, especially the part where they talked about how Barry discovered his falsetto voice while they were recording the song "Nights on Broadway." The whole show was really well done, and it was a fun bit of nostalgia to hear all those songs again!

Re: Music Free-for-all
On my return home from south Arkansas last Sunday, a radio station was playing Casey Kasem's Top 40 Hits of 1979. Nostalgia City!!!! That was my first year of law school and I commuted on weekends between south Arkansas and Little Rock. I forgot what a wonderful, rich voice Donna Summers had. She had three top 10 hits that year!

Re: Music Free-for-all
I listened to that show all through Jr Hi and High school and wrote down the Top 40 every week so I could try to see if I could predict what would be on the end-of-the-year list. My parents wanted me to go to church which was at the same time as the show, so they ended up buying me a little radio with a cassette recorder that I could use to tape the show while we were in church. Between church and Sunday school, I'd run out and flip the tape over to make sure I caught all of it. Sadly, that was the highlight of my week - listening to a countdown show.neonzx wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:48 am"Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."Tiredretiredlawyer wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 11:33 am On my return home from south Arkansas last Sunday, a radio station was playing Casey Kasem's Top 40 Hits of 1979.

Kriselda Gray, you had good parents, it seems.

I don't think the crowd knew the words to the song. (chuckle)

Isn't it ironic, don't you think?

I'm not big on DMB. Don't know their work, but the fans certainly do. You could see them singing along. At least this video lets you hear the band. The Taylor Swift duet video was all about the audience. The crowd drowned out the celebrities. I couldn't understand them. I got just enough to realize that Taylor could channel Alanis if she wanted to.
Re: Music Free-for-all
I've only been to one DMB concert .. and it was in Phoenix. The crowd was exactly that what is in that video from Atlanta -- 20-somethings and overtly white as well as high as a kite. We had crap seats but coming down the row was a pipe -- share and share alike. LOL I felt so outa place. But I'm a trooper!bill_g wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 6:57 amWho woulda thought - it figures.neonzx wrote: ↑Tue Jan 18, 2022 12:20 am

Here is Alanis. I think I said I saw her from 2nd row center. ($300/ticket scalped back in the 90s).
She's the real deal.
