Re: Cats!
Three years ago I got a kitten from the animal shelter. She's been a snot ever since. I love her so much anyway. She was not happy when I brought the family dog back into the family and shows her discontent often. Though when they both know no one is watching, they manage.
Cowboy is a pit and also a rescue 7 years ago. Extremely well behaved and obedient but a box of rocks.
My house was built in 1908, so the internal door hardware is worn and a slight push will open them. Kitty learned quickly to push open doors. Bathrooms, bedrooms and can even open the pocket doors in the living room.
Cowboy would just stand at a closed door and whimper, lie down in front of it. No more! He has learned from his Cruella Cat sister and now opens everything but the old pocket doors. He also alerts me to when she is waiting outside to come in.
Now, if my two grown Knuckleheads would get along.

Re: Cats!
RIP, Chunky. When we bought this place, the responsibility to feed three feral cats conveyed with the property. The oldest, Chunky, was already here when the previous owners bought the place in 2004. He was a kitten then, so, 18, maybe?
Anyhoo, he didn’t come out for breakfast this morning. My husband found him in his heated kitty shelter. He had a good, long life for a feral cat, and it appears he went peacefully.

I'm sorry for your loss! How sweet of you to provide heated shelters for the feral cats!! It sounds like you helped give him a good life

My cat Stormy has her own twitter account. The other day she posted a thread about her trip to the vet…

My sympathy for your loss of Chunky. Y'all gave him a good old age.

(Foggy says those parts out loud… so we don’t have to)
Adorable kitten. There’s a domesticated serval cat on TikTok, Chloe, who is fun to watch.

I follow Dean's YouTube channel and bought Nala's World, his book about how Nala found him and his travels around Europe with her. The book is wonderful.
The story of how the little kitten found Dean is really heartwarming and somewhat heartbreaking, considering she had been dumped in the mountains in Bosnia miles from any town, to fend for herself. Dean was cycling in the mountains in when he heard an animal crying. She was a little kitten at the time and was crying her heart out and running trying to catch up with him. He's a big burly guy with a huge heart and in the book he talks about how she opened the whole world to him. When he was traveling alone, or with his friend, who joined him at the beginning of his journeys, he says people never really approached him. But once he found Nala and she became his traveling companion all kinds of people come up and want to talk to him and pet his sweet kitty cat. I recommend the book, it's such a lovely story and Dean is a surprisingly good writer. I feel like I can picture every single thing he describes as I'm reading the words.

My Lila wouldnt have a bar of that thing. She sorta sniffed it, but didnt touch it enough to set it off. So I bumped it and she took off like her tail was on fire.MsDaisy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 12:05 pm I came across this flopping fish cat toy on Amazon and thought my 3 girls might get a kick out of it. Trudy (senior cat) sniffed it and walked away unimpressed. Katie (middle cat) sniffed a bit more and then touched it and it started flopping. Pickle (youngest cat) was standing right there beside Katie when the fish began to flop and she shot straight up 2 feet off the floor. Wuz damn funny.
Has everybody heard about the bird?

I bought one of those things, not sure if it was the same brand. The one I bought holds a charge for about 3 seconds, not even long enough for a proper flop.
