Kriselda
Hello!
I started with the forum when it was Politijab, just shortly before the split, and was active for 6 or 7 years before needing a break. During the Trump years I needed to avoid obsessing over what he was doing - and what he was doing to our country - because I was already in a very dark place over his election. Lately, though, I'd been missing the place and thought I'd drop back in.
Not much has changed for me. I'm still homebound and stuck in bed, and my husband and I are still doing well. The biggest change is that my father died in August of 2020 - though not from COVID, thankfully. I hadn't talked to him as often as I probably should have, but I find that I still really miss just having him in my life quite a bit.
We also lost our two dogs, Xander and Laika, a couple of years apart. Thankfully, both had good, long lives, though, so that helped. We've also just recently adopted two new pups. Von - from the Old Norse word for "hope" - is 22 months and QUITE the talker! Sasha is 10 months and an absolute sweetheart. They're both Lab mixes (like all the other dogs my husband and I have adopted over the last 25+ years.) We think Sasha may also be part Pitbull and Von part Greyhound. They're both very rambunctious - maybe a bit more so than we bargained for, but we're managing and they'll grow out of a lot of it eventually
So, that's pretty much it. It's nice to be back so far, and good to see so many familiar faces!

Good morning, and welcome back Kriselda. I promise we would hold it against you that you don't have cats. Their magnificence can be too much sometimes.

I'm glad I saved your Norse smiley now.
The more I learn about this planet, the more improbable it all seems.

Re: Kriselda
Yes, cats are truly magnificent - I've had a couple - but for some reason I seem to just be a dog person. Maybe because that's what we had when I was little, so I'm just more used to having them around. Or, perhaps, I truly am simply inadequate to be in the face of their majesty for too long...
Nice to see you too!
I should have some tomorrow
Thanks! It's good to see you!
Thanks!!
