Trump's influence going forward
Re: Trump's influence going forward
AFAIK the "donor wall" doesn't affect the whether donations are deductible in US..
There is only one (US) charity (https://computerhistory.org/) where I make the "donor wall", so YMMV..

There is a fun feature from Canada revenue that shows that the IRS is not the most stringent agency around. If a business contributes to a charity, like a symphony, and the symphony prints names of donors, the business may not receive a tax deduction if they are listed as that is considered to be a benefit to the business (i.e. advertising). If the business chose not to be listed, they could receive the deduction.
I was a tax accountant for a manufacturing company. We regularly donated equipment to a local technical college for their students to learn on. The department which donated the equipment used the bookkeeping code for Charitable Contributions. One of the things I did when preparing the tax return was to reclassify those expenses as Advertising. That's basically what they were. Moreover, advertising expenses are not limited on a corporate tax return whereas charitable contributions can be.
Re: Trump's influence going forward
I'm thinking that as time goes forward, Trump is going to have less and less influence on, well, everything.
And that is going to drive him to do more and more insane things.
Not clear how that will affect his sycophants in politics, but I suspect it could be trouble if they aren't careful. Which they aren't.

His cult thinks he looks great - ready for 2024!

Well, I think he does look better except for the high heel golf shoes. Finally, he has been released from the pressures of his former job, all that juggling of all those responsibilities.
Okay, most of that was snark, but he does look like he has lost a little weight, but he still sucks!

Umm.. So he lost a few pounds. How does that affect his poor mental fitness and all-around asshole-ness ?President Trump looks fantastic and stronger than ever!
Hard pass.

The issue with a donor wall, or a concert program is, AFAIK, only a Canadian issue and strictly applies to for profit corporations.tek wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 6:39 pm AFAIK the "donor wall" doesn't affect the whether donations are deductible in US..

To avoid a continued hijack, I will steer it back by mentioning, if you want an example of what not to do with a private foundation, you need only look at the now-former Trump Foundation.

There was a monster on the original Star Trek that desperately needed salt to survive. To human eyes it was very ugly so it used the power of its mind to disguise itself as a beautiful woman not unlike the one in the picture with him. Anyway it killed by sucking all the salt out of the humans which left a mark similar to the one on his cheek. Perhaps he has found one of these monsters tamed it and is using it as part of a quick weight loss program. Or Maybe he is testing out a new brand BRD Big Red D.

I don't think so. I think he's in a rage and out for blood. He's got his enemies list, and he's going to make them pay.

He looks as chunky as always to me. Still can't figure how he survived COVID-19 relatively effortlessly when fitter, younger people I know ended up on ventilators and/or with long COVID effects.

Trump is only alive because he got immediate top notch cutting edge medical treatment.pipistrelle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 10:59 pm He looks as chunky as always to me. The death rate would be a lot lower if everyone had access to the same medical care.
Re: Trump's influence going forward
Is he ogling them or choosing a size?

Also, too, he looks kinda pale, i.e. he didn't bother to put on his orange makeup.pipistrelle wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 10:59 pm He looks as chunky as always to me.
