Another (mass school) Shooting (stopped thanks to students speaking up.)
This one is in my school district.
Two SWFL teens arrested for plotting Columbine-style school shooting
Deputies have arrested two students on charges of conspiracy to commit a mass shooting after a student’s tip to a teacher.
According to Lee County Sheriff Carmine Marceno, an eighth-grade teacher at Harns Marsh Middle School in Lehigh Acres received information about a student who possibly had a gun in his bag.
...
Marceno said the teens were extensively studying the Columbine High School shooting incident and shooters, how to construct pipe bombs and how to purchase firearms on the black market.
After searching their homes, deputies found guns and several knives.

Police in Newport News, Virginia, say they're looking for a suspect in a Monday morning school shooting that wounded two people and left two others injured.
"I don't believe that this is an individual that is searching the community to hurt members," Police Chief Steve Drew said, adding that investigators believe the victims were known to the suspect.
Drew said there was "some type of altercation" leading up to the incident at Heritage High School, but he was unclear on details. He could not say whether the shooter was a student.
Drew said evidence was recovered from the school and its grounds. "There is some footage and some evidence there that we're looking at," he said.

Wounded and injured are different?
I think I saw somewhere that 2 were shot, while another one had an asthma attack, and yet another was injured in a fall. All woundings are injuries though not all injuries are woundings, and the asthma attack would be something else altogether IMHO.
This is one crazy story. One person dead and another wounded from a prop gun fired by Alec Baldwin. I hope someone can explain this to me because I'm shocked and dumbfounded.
I can't imagine how he must feel.
'lish, do you know how prop firearms are handled? It seems like it would require someone more qualified than the standard stage hand/prop person.
He was reportedly weeping as he spoke to the law enforcement officers. So sad. I too wonder what the whole story will be once it comes out.

Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed on the New Mexico set of the film “Rust” after she was shot by a prop gun fired by the film’s star and producer, Alec Baldwin. IATSE Local 44, which covers prop masters, sent an email to its members early Friday morning that said the gun used in the scene contained “a live round” and the production’s propmaster was not a member of Local 44. Director Joel Souza also was hit and injured by a bullet and was treated at an area hospital before being released.

Pity that NM is a right-to-work state, which means the company didn't have to hire a prop man or one recognised as qualified by a union, whose responsibly it would be to check whether all the props are set up correctly for the scene.

I'm puzzled that I can't find any info on the propmaster, not even a name. None of the news stories even mention the existence of a propmaster but he would have to be intimately involved in this mess.
