I have no similar stories at this time, knock on wood, but I do have a tree pointing the wrong direction after last night’s storm.

Is that a Willow Oak? Are you able to get it to stand back up?
I don’t believe it is anything oak, I think it is in the oleander family. But it’s a nice tree. This is an Airbnb for us, so we notified the owner who notified the hoa. It’s pretty big, so it would be pretty difficult to right, but it sends like a crew it something could do it. But can you even do that with the roots? Sure would be nice if you could.

Online “Family Share” photos are really a great thing. Being able to watch nieces, nephews, great nieces & nephews grow up in real time from across the globe is a wonderful thing. But because our immediate family consists of English, Dutch, Japanese, and Spanish speakers I very much appreciate Google Translate as some of the Spanish and Japanese inlaws don't speak english. The Japanese English/Dutch great niece and nephew in London just posted photos of a visit to the Tate Modern. I’ve been to museums all over the world, the US, Japan, Panama, South Africa, Spain and the UK and I have to say the Tate Modern is one of the strangest museums I’ve ever been to. They’ve had some seriously strange exhibits there, some I’m not sure I would actually call art. But then beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say… Has anyone else ever been there?

Maybe later, we'll know a better place to put this, but I'm dropping it here for now.
Former Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) was attacked in Oakland, Calif., on Monday but not seriously injured, according to a statement on her official Twitter account.

Boxer, 80, was allegedly pushed in the back by an assailant who stole her cellphone before jumping into a waiting car, according to her statement.

The Oakland Police Department told The Hill that a victim was walking in the 300 block of 3rd Street at 1:15 p.m. when they were "approached by a suspect" who "forcefully took loss from the victim, and fled in a nearby waiting vehicle."

The department, which did not identify the victim, said the incident is being investigated by the Oakland Police Department's robbery section.

You may be famous yet!

But I think it's not Google Earth (which is the 3D aerial views -- rather the Google Street View. I passed one of those cars a couple years ago along the road (I ducked to stay outa view  )

https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/fe ... uxbndlbing
Feds sell one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album forfeited by ‘Pharma Bro’ Martin Shkreli

A one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album that had been owned by jailed pharmaceutical executive Martin Shkreli has been sold by the federal government as part of civil forfeiture agreement he reached when he was convicted in 2017.

Details of the sale — including the identity of the buyer and the purchase price — were not disclosed. Shkreli had reportedly paid $2 million for the album, “Once Upon a Time in Sholin,” which the seminal rap group released in 2015. It is the only existing copy of the recording.

The proceeds of the sale will go to satisfy the $7.4 million forfeiture agreement Shkreli reached when he was convicted, according to the U.S. Attorney for New York’s Eastern District.

“With today’s sale of this one-of-a-kind album, his payment of the forfeiture is now complete,” said acting U.S. Attorney Jacquelyn Kasulis.

Oh, the things I must do at work.

I drove through the lower gate, and needed to get through the upper gate. Cattle were grazing in the upper field, but as soon as I approached the gate, they lined up like school kids wanting through. Okay. I open the gate, and the brown one just stared at me like "You're doin it wrong pal".

Fine. I backed the truck up so everybody could saunter through. "Wonderful. Thank you. Oh but like OMG! We'd like to hang out for just a few minutes. It's just so like nice over here dude." is what I imagined them saying with teenage school girl cool voices.

My ADHD kicked in at about minute three. I put the truck in gear and crept up the hill tapping the horn when one decided to exercise the Oregon crosswalk laws. I left the upper gate open for any stranglers to get out while I'm there. Or for everyone to come back in. You never know with cattle.

Holy shit! A hell of a fucking storm just blew through here. Sideways rain flooded my kitchen floor from blown open doors. (The kitchen has two sets of doors, one front and one back with the kitchen windows between them facing NW. It’s an oddly laid out old country house that started out as two rooms up & two down in 1815 and now has 10 doors by which you can leave this house. 11 if you count the doggie door and it’s not really that big of a house.) I was home alone when it hit, then I got a tornado alert on my phone to head for a basement. We have a basement but you have to go outside to get to it and there was a full sideways gully wash going on outside at the time. All 5 critters (3 cats & 2 dogs) were as freaked out as I was and there was no way I was going down there without them and no way I’d get any of them outside to go down there with me. Luckily it finally passed with not much damage other than a few broken tree branches and blown over outside pots. At least we didn’t lose any more trees, or the house! :faint:

There was no news on our news channel at 6 PM. It was all about all the storms and possible tornadoes in quite a large area around here. So far, we've not had anything here, but there's a lot of really nasty stuff in the area, including Ohio, West Virginia, and Maryland.
