Yes Foggy, I'm much to old to out be flipping 4-wheelers. It's actually quite a painful thing! My wrist is certainly lots of different colors, and I have lots of bruises all over from that crash but the most painful of all is this bitty little bruise on the inside of my left thigh. This little buggar hurts so bad it's difficult to even walk!

Add me to the too-old-for-this-shit list this week. Stopped on the way to work yesterday at about 5:15 am. Did all the stuff and my foot was suddenly cold. Looked down and something wet was splashing on it. Then I realized my whole right side was wet, from my head down, Then I realized it was gasoline! The hose had come loose at the top of the pump and the gas was just coming out like a shower. By this time my foot was burning and I was hauling ass inside to tell them. I asked for a paper towel and the old guy said "they're over there" and pointed to the aisle they're on. The other woman asked me why I wanted a paper towel, so I told them AGAIN that the pump was spewing gas everywhere, including on me. She reached down and handed me a wet rag OUT OF THE MOP BUCKET. Yeah, one chemical on top of another one is always a good idea. Meanwhile, my clothes are wet with gas and I still have to drive back home. Scrubbed off in the shower for about 20 minutes, told them I was running late and headed back to work. By the time I got back, my entire right side was on fire. The nurse sent me home with instructions to scrub well with Dawn and then soak in the tub for 30 minutes. Called a doc friend and he recommended surgical scrub and lotion. Got back to work about noon and was puking my guts out with a killer headache by 4. Came home, showered AGAIN and went to bed. Slept straight through for 12 hours and good as new today.

Must be a full moon or something...

I had shingles, it sucked really bad. They want to give you pain pills that I can't take, narcotic pain relievers have always caused me way more GI pain than they're worth. But just in case anyone here does get shingles there is one thing that really works and is not a narcotic! Capsaicin ointment, it hurts like hell for the couple seconds it takes to rub it in but seconds later, BAM! the pain is almost completely masked! Great stuff!
Gabapentin is also a miracle for shingles zingers.

I'm so glad you are going to be ok, DaisyGurl. As for Sugar, Holy Shit! The gas stations' response/lack of was dangerous and irresponsible! To me, that sounded like a HAZMAT situation. I hope you get better.

Enough already.

They prescribed Gabapentin but I haven’t taken it. Perhaps because of the location (on my scalp near the hairline) it hasn’t been that painful (3-4 on a scale of 10, with occasional sharper bouts that I try to ignore). I’ve introduced enough chemicals for my poor liver and kidneys to process in the last couple weeks, I don’t want to add more if I can help it.

It's not for everyone. I respond well to it. Better than getting sick from the other Hillbilly heroin you can get from a doctor. It's good for arthritis zingers too.

I certainly hope so! The right side of my right hand is nearly as purple as my left wrist and it's still pretty painful to turn doorknobs.

I woke up this morning with what appears to be mosquito bites all over my right arm and shoulder and the left side of my face and head. Big, fat welts that itch like crazy. I have absolutely no idea what it is but the itching is maddening. Rubbing alcohol helps so at least I'm not suicidal yet.

FYI, it’s me, Kate520Phoenix520. I’ve been locked out of my account again. I’ll use this one as long as I can, then I’ll be back when the system (mine or the Fogbow’s, I’m not sure which) lets me back in.

Already called this morning and it's most likely a reaction to the lotion stuff. I've had something similar when they squirted some vaseline-like goop in my eye and my stomach and chest broke out. Apparently, my body isn't aware that most people get a reaction to topical stuff by actually reacting where, you know, the stuff is applied. More showers, less lotion. It's already better.
