One-Party Trifecta Exhaustion

I'll inugurate this 2026 board by asking the long simple question:

Given the 'common wisdom' about how one-party rule invariably collapses under its own weight of internal factionalism and failure to deliver to everyone's satisfaction on the most outrageous promises, but also given that FJT has built his entire brand on a kind of puffery which says it's stupid to hold him to even his *least* outrageous promises, how do folks think these two things will come into conflict? Will the MAGop be held accountable in 2026 for the sudden but inevitable failure of the regime?

Let's start Nostradamusing.

Off-year elections are almost always rough on the party that holds the White House. Tax cuts are always safe. Sadly, he could get away with his immigration wishes with little repercussion. However, if his tariff wishes tank the economy even a bit, or his need to fire the world screws up essential services, his party hold on Congress is toast. The US electorate is a "grass is always greener" people.

As Julius Ceasar once said, "It's the economy, stupid."

My take is that Scumface & Co will fail at everything they attempt due to incompetency and flawed planning, resulting in decay of social structures and standard of living. I also think there will be a military purge, when the existing command structure resists whatever mayhem they will be ordered to do.

Yeah but the problem is how gullible the population will be in 2-4 years especially if he's successful in blaming the democrats and everyone else for his tanking the economy again

I think it goes without saying that the population will be just as gullible in 2-4 years if not more so. None of Scumface & Co's disasters will be blamed on him by the masses, I agree. I don't see a turn away from this autocracy and turn away from Enlightenment within my lifetime.

I'm glad someone discovered the new 2026 elections forum, but I mostly agree with p0rtia. It worked - we have a nation of morons. They'll be just as dumb in 2 years. Dumber.

But the real rich people won't cotton to a drastic stoppage of the economy. I think some business people will step up and stop the slide. Billionaires don't want to lose money.

And nobody has answered my question - what happens when he realizes that he literally is the government, and he decides that the national debt is his personal debt, and stops all interest payments on T-bills? That would be so good for America, we wouldn't owe all those trillions of dollars! This is Donald Trump - he doesn't pay his debts. Never has, never will. I predict he defaults on the national debt, and then China starts foreclosure proceedings against the White House.

But seriously ... if he has ideas about tariffs, it won't be long before he has ideas about the national debt.

Oh you know he thinks he can wipe out the debt with bitcoins or his own digital coin

Yeah, and I'd like to see him try it.

The problem is, the Supremes made him a dictator, a thing Joe Biden should exploit to the max, but what happens when he decides something so idiotic that everyone tells him to stop, but he is a dictator?

And I think we're getting Hegseth and Patel and people like that because he doesn't know anybody else other than these low-grade ass-kissers and grifters. He has no idea how to find a competent Secretary of the Navy, or any other position. He can only trust his own people, but his own people are a lot of scumbags and lowlifes.

So we are going to have a government of scumbags and lowlifes. :|

My real gripe is, here we are in the midst of the greatest Information Age the world has ever known, but low-information voters are apparently a majority. :blackeyebig:

They are low-information voters because they get their "news" not from news. They are on Fox entertainment , newsmax, cnn, the facebook groups and other social media that affirm their beliefs. They lack the ability or will to view things outside the their bubble with intellectual curiosity. They cannot learn.

So we end up with the bs we are getting.

As I always said about the birther movement, Shit sticks together... He's not draining the swamp.. he is the swamp. That's why I find it funny about how trumpers talk about protecting the children when Trump surrounded himself with the most vile people. Isn't it like 6 different child molestors that associated with trump including Gaetz, George Nader, Epstein, etc. These are the kinds of people he hangs out with.
