Donald Trump’s social media post that showed a purported endorsement for the presidency from the JP Morgan chief executive, Jamie Dimon, among the most influential investment bankers on Wall Street, is false, a representative confirmed on Friday.

The Truth Social post – what appears to be a screenshot of a tweet with a siren emoji and text claiming Dimon had endorsed Trump, with a photo of Dimon – appeared at 1.56pm ET on Friday, as Trump was flying to Augusta, Georgia, for a campaign event.

But Dimon has not endorsed Trump or made any endorsements in the 2024 presidential race, according to a JPMorgan Chase spokesperson. And Dimon has not contributed any money to the Trump campaign or to Trump’s Democratic rival, Kamala Harris.

The instant denial from the bank has not led Trump to take down the post, which has more than 3,500 reposts and more than 11,000 likes, even as he distanced himself from the claim when he was confronted about it after he landed in Augusta.

“I don’t know anything about it,” Trump said. When a reporter noted he had posted it on his social media platform, Trump suggested one of his aides had posted the claim.

Donald Trump returned for a rally in Butler, PA after his assassination attempt in July, and woooboy was he unhinged.

Let's recap it:

Donald is the one who’s standing behind bulletproof glass despite Corey Comperatore dying and three people being seriously injured.

After saying at the RNC convention that he was only going to talk about the bullet that grazed his ear that once, he spoke about it for the 100th time since.

He says “the grace of God” saved him. Corey would like a word.

He thanks the local police who failed to secure the roof.

He praises the doctors who helped him, but we’ve yet to see his ER report after the surgeon.

He had issues saying “Comperatore,” “era,” “we’re,” “going,” “students,” “this,” “industry,” “education,” “business,” and “insanity.” Bro's mind is mashed potatoes.

He held a moment of silence for Corey and proceeds to look around all shifty eyed like someone who’s on drugs and then plays music. Uh. He doesn't know what a moment of silence is because he's incapable of behaving like a normal human during one.

He calls JD Vance the “future Vice President.” I gagged.

Trump gifted Purple Heart, says he ‘always wanted’ one

A military veteran supporting Donald Trump gifted the Republican nominee his Purple Heart Tuesday, prompting Trump to say he “always wanted to get the Purple Heart” and this was “much easier” than serving in combat.

Purple Hearts are awarded to service members who suffer wounds in combat.

“Something very nice just happened to me. A man came up to me and handed me his Purple Heart,” Trump told supporters at a campaign event here. “I said to him, ‘Is that like the real one or is that a copy?’ And he said, ‘That’s my real Purple Heart. I have such confidence in you.’”

Trump received the veteran, identified by his campaign as retired Lt. Col. Louis Dorfman, on stage at the start of the rally to receive the decoration. The campaign didn’t specify which branch Dorfman served in.

“I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier,” Trump said.

Trump then pocketed the decoration after the veteran left the stage.

The New York Times reported Monday that Trump received multiple student deferments and a medical deferment for a bone spur during the Vietnam War, successfully avoiding getting drafted into service.
