My right arm works okay, it's just that I'm under 160 lbs. myself, so umm ... yeah. I won't be testing the 350 lbs. capacity of the device. I have to be able to get it up the first step. :oopsy:

I have a bookcase I built that needs paint, but it weighs 40 pounds. Perfect for this gizmo, and I can deal with 40 lbs.

Ol' Wifehorn says I don't eat anything after surgery, so I'm trying to put on some additional weight before my surgery in 30 days. Surprisingly, it's not easy. Gastroparesis or sumpin'. :( If I eat too much, I lose everything. Today I made a slow-cooker beef stew, totally delicious and economical ($11 of eye round makes 4 - 5 large meals), but will it translate to me gaining weight?

Tune in next week on this same channel for the next thrilling episode of Stuff the Rooster.

If those are ingredients, I'm gonna love the recipe.

No, I know, those are add some weight foods, amirite?

But wait! I'm a diabetic who pays attention. No bread or corn bread, or at least not as a major part of my diet. My grains weakness is filled with Cheerios and Bite Sized Shredded What? :confuzzled: And I never take a bite of either without fresh fruit.

No pasta. No rice, or very little. Some potatoes. Rarely. I gotta keep my A1C down, and I do. I have iron self-discipline.

No, because I'm slow to digest, is the problem. So it's more about how much total food in a 24-hour period, not whether it's in 3 meals or 6 or 9.

Good thinking, though. That's the first thing I thought of.

My stomach issues are ... essentially controllable, which is a very different thing from saying fun.

I'm very unhappy with my current gastroenterologist, but it is taking a long time to switch, and then to get an appointment with a Duke Health gastroenterologist. Until then, I shall muddle through somehow, using what I have learned thus far. The problem is already 100x better than when I spent Easter 2023 in the ER. I got this, until a new gastroenterologist got this. Erp.

I didn't know that celery (or onions) would help me add weight, but I like celery and will increase my intake.

Pro - pro tip. Paint the darn bookcase UPSTAIRS. Carry the paint upstairs. Yes use a drop cloth and be careful, but carrying a paint can is a lot easier than a bookcase.

This morning I had a dentist appointment at 7:30. I'm a morning person, and it helps them with scheduling. Besides, my dentist is the coolest dentist in the world. Y'all know I also had the worst dentist in the world, Orly Taitz, who was sued for malpractice so many times she went to law school to cut down on defense attorney fees. But my dentist this morning gave me a long rant about Democratic politics before we even started working on my teeth, every word of which I agreed with 100%. He and I (and ol' Wifehorn, who he likes better than me for some reason) are on the same page politically. But he finally finished his rant, and then he started working on me, and his office music is a little unique, and some nice Rocky Horror came on. He recognized it and remembered going to the show with thirty people, all in costume. Then some disco song came on and we had a discussion about that. He does expert work on my teeth, too.

It was 7:30 on a Thursday morning, and I was rocking out at my dentist.

Me: 🎵 I feel like I should be boppin' around in the dental chair. 🎶

Him: Please don't bop around in the chair. It's harder to hit a moving target.

Me:  ... umm, yeah, okay, Doc. :?

Yes. Orly Taitz was wrong. Very wrong. We lasted maybe three appointments, then we found somebody else. It used to be really hard to find information about a bad dentist. She smelled bad. She spoke broken English. She made you wait an hour in her office. She was a pig.

But she is the only bad dentist I had, except when I was a kid.

I still say yous gotta tell us detailed stories about your visits with Dr. Tatiz Esq.

But that wasn't even this century ... I blocked most of it out. I remember that she smelled really bad. I remember she didn't speak English fluently (still can't). I remember that she made you wait forever in the waiting room. One time I told the receptionist that I had a court appearance in the afternoon and would have to leave if I didn't get in within an hour. More than an hour later, as I was leaving for court, Taitz decided to finally see me. I told her I had given fair warning when I arrived and the receptionist backed me up. That was the last time I ever saw the bitch, when I got home ol' Wifehorn and I agreed to find somebody else.

That's all I remember. Neither of us saw her for more than three visits. When I saw her again in December 2008 making some sorta birther speech, it took me a minute or two to place the ugly face. Ol' Wifehorn looked, and said "We know her! How do we know her?"

I have made love in many various places and circumstances, and I was actually in a dentist's chair yesterday morning, and that's a really stupid, uncomfortable, awkward place for a little sex. And when you see Charles Lincoln's photos, I suspect it wasn't even possible. I think ol' Charlie done told a fib about that. :liar:

So after all the surgeries, which aren't even done yet, finally something good. In March of next year, ol' Wifehorn and I are gonna spend two weeks doing a river cruise in Europe, from Prague through southern Germany and into Paris. Spending an extra day in Paris (the tour is 12 days), because Paris.

They had a trip in April, but we wouldn't have gotten home in time to see Numbah One Son's graduation ceremony at NC State. It will be chilly, but I have all the warm clothes. I don't speak a word of French beyond "Merci beaucoup" and all the German I know, I learned from watching Hogan's Heroes, so everyone else will have to just speak English and put up with the weird old American. :oopsy: Or maybe I'll try to learn some German while I'm recuperating after Halloween surgery. :liar:
