Same here. I have completely dumped CNN, although sometimes I watch a short segment on YouTube. Their treatment of Joe Biden disgusted me. And of course, giving a pass on every damn thing Trump does has always irritated me.

I follow international news too, but I didn't mention it because I was told many years ago that only 4% of Americans follow any foreign policy or events. The vast majority of our fellow countryfolk have no idea where the border of Iraq and Ukraine is, to this very day.
The Media are the Goddam Problem
For several decades, CNN International was all there was for folks living overseas. It was a terrific channel, mainly because it was so much more effing woke than CNN domestic. They did news; they did not repeat racist tropes or give endless opinions. I watched it for a long time after I got back to the States in 2005. I haven't for a while; will have to give it another try.

So true. Even aside from that, foreign news sources often have more intelligent and honest reporting about US news. I get not only news from around the world, but even better reporting about things here at home from sources. Why, just this morning I heard Harris is headed to Wisconsin for a rally from.... Al Jazeera. CNN is likely just pointing out "why xxxxx is bad for Harris". No thanks, I'd prefer to have at least a passing chance of finding out what is going on in the world around me, and even closer to home.Foggy wrote: ↑Tue Jul 23, 2024 10:59 am I follow international news too, but I didn't mention it because I was told many years ago that only 4% of Americans follow any foreign policy or events. Here at home my local ABC station has not been consumed by Sinclair. Thank goodness. So, that is another source of news I go for.

When I have time, I do what Foggy does and hit Google News, which I have personalized to restrict some new sources entirely that I never want to hear from, just to get a feel for what's out there before settling on what article seems the most reasonable.
When I don't have time, I just check out The Guardian.

“‘It puts everyone in a really bad position’: Black journalists react to Trump joining NABJ panel”:
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/art ... nabj-panel
“On Monday night, the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) announced that Donald Trump will participate in a panel discussion at the organization’s annual convention in Chicago, which starts on Wednesday.
The announcement, which said that the Q&A would “concentrate on the most pressing issues facing the Black community”, was met with swift online backlash from some Black journalists. They decried the decision to invite a presidential candidate who has lambasted Black journalists, led a movement to squash diversity, equity and inclusion efforts and who is responsible for increased anti-journalistic sentiment, including the popularization of the term “fake news” to describe factual, but potentially unflattering, reporting.”

Lol it's not gonna be a Q&A or panel discussion or whatever they think its gonna be, they are just giving free venue to host another Trump rally.Uninformed wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 4:59 am “‘It puts everyone in a really bad position’: Black journalists react to Trump joining NABJ panel”:

I think the Q&A (or however you want to characterize it) as worked quite well. Kudos to the NABJ for convincing Turnip that it was in his best interest to shoot himself in the head (I dunno about that one. Too soon?).

So after the disastrous Trump/Musk interview, do you know what the primary headline is, in the Washington Post?
Walz’s handling of George Floyd protests draws fresh scrutiny
So fuck those guys, anyway.

The shame goes to CNN for having a known liar and grifter and racist on their network.

CNN is no doubt counting its clicks this morning and giving high fives all around for getting the attention of the world . Ditto Mace. As they say, #dobettercnn

I'm afraid CNN has deciding that doing better means bringing in more bucks.

The worst part is that she actually pronounced Harris' name correctly at first and then had to correct herself.

These news conferences are nothing more than Trump campaign schlock. Isn't it about time for the Harris campaign to demand equal time?

Mace during the clip is using the GOP excuse of "Oh I didn't hear him say that" so then they can't comment on it or condemn it
